D* for over 20 years. Installed my own . Moved and went to cable for a short time then back to D* Rnd dish 1 lbn. Purcased Phase III trip LNB and installed myself to get local chnls. Works great. What is so great about H20 and HD? From what I see in the stores and the programs available I question the extra cost . Where am I wrong.?

    DirecTV hasn't been around 20 years :)

Personally I find the HDTV video quality much improved over standard definition, a difference that becomes especially visible on a large screen HDTV. If you want DirecTV's HiDef channels, then you'll need an H20 Receiver or HR10-250 DVR or HR20-700 DVR. If you don't find the difference important to you, then save the money.
