    Problem

I moved my H21 over to my SMW8 today from my WB68. I removed the BBC when I hooked it up to the SWM. Now I am getting the "Your B-Band Converter is NOT connected" message instead of the "searching for signal" message.

I have a 12" cable coming from FTM2 going to a splitter and then one line going to the H21 and one line going to one of my HR20's. The HR20 is still getting the "searching for signal" message. I have done a menu reset and I am still get the "Your B-Band Converter is NOT connected" message.

Anyone have any other idea's to try?

    Wait for new software?
Mine does the same thing after passing off the WB68.

My H21 is back on the SWM. Most of today it wasn't on a local mpeg4, and the guide appears complete and correct.

I just tuned it back to one of my local mpeg4 (Seattle KOMO) and will leave it there until tomorrow sometime and see if I start losing guide data again.

Also, and I don't know if this matters or not, I have my two HR20's and my D12 all fed via splitters off the FTM1/PI port, and the H21 fed all by itself off the FTM2 port.

Mine too. The H21 is obviously missing the "fake" transponder mapping that tells it channel 499 is on a b-band transponder (that's what causes it to send the signal to the bbc that switches a-band channels off, and causes the "searching for satellite" message.)

Left my H21 on a 119 channel overnight. Guide was fine. Will try 110 tonight.

I've got "Regular Schedule" this morning, after leaving the H21 on my local mpeg4 station over night.

I'll try 110 and 119 next, as Texasbrit is doing.

Mine's been on Ch 74 for 2 days now and as far as I can tell, it's doing alright. I'll do the same and change channels and check again this afternoon.

I sat mine to a different MPEG4 channel on 99 last night. I'll see how the guide is tonight.

I have had mine on a local MPEG4 channel and in stand by mode for the last 10 hours and I just took it out of stand by to check the guide and it is ok. I just change the channel to a MPEG2 HD channel and put it into stand by again. So I will check late tonight or tomorrow morning to see if I have any problems with the guide.

Had mine on ES2H (72) for three days now and everything looks good. Guide is still there and no 1080i light. Going to switch to WMAQ (5) Chicago local MPEG4 right now and shut it down.

Another thing just occurred to me. We had a few storms roll by last week and lost signal for a period of time. Unfortunately I don't remember if there's a correlation. One more thing to look at next time. :)

Left the H21 on HBOHD, channel 70 for several hours. Guide restored properly with all entries. I think HBO is on 110 satellite.

Next I'll go to 76, Discovery HD and leave it there for awhile. I think that's on 119.

So far the guide problem only occurs when I'm on my local Seattle KOMO mpeg4 feed. (but have not tried other mpeg4 locals, I'll get around to that), and only occurs when I'm on the SWM.

My apologies for not reading this whole thread yet. I don't know if this has been discussed yet....

But my remote response seems to be delayed over the last few days. I hit the guide button and it takes about 2-3 seconds to come up.

Also....on the EI games... no matter if native is on or off, it will not stay on pillar box. It keeps jumping to stretch. And when I hit guide or menu, it will switch to pillar box for those 2-3 seconds i mentioned earlier and go to either said comman.

I'll power cyclce and see what happens.

I have not had the guide problem some of you other guys have mentioned.

    OK...sorry I'm quoting myself.....

But I've only had this new Samsung 32" LCD for a few days and I'm still getting used to it. I'm used to my Panasonic plasma and there settings.

There are options in the "picture" menu that has the choices of 16:9 and 4:3. So because I have selected 16:9 within the TV, no matter what I select on the H21, it goes to 16:9 because that is what the set has been told to do. With pillar box set and Native on, it still stretches. This is going to take some time to get used too.

    I don't have these 16:9/4:3 options in my Panny's.

Just flipping through the guide tonight, there are some cases where the guide is ludicrously fast and somewhere it is only wicked fast. I don't know how else to say it, the guide is always very fast in scrolling but every two or three screens it slows down a bit.

Issue: Left my H21 tuned to KCRA (MPEG-4) for the past 24 hours. Returned and I have no guide data. All channels in the guide display "Regular Schedule".

Additional Information: H21 connected SWM to FTM1. FTM1 is split 3 ways supplying the H21, HR20 and D12.

I've been on a legacy port for the same time without any guide problems while tuned to KCRA.

I have seen this problem two or three times with no consistency. Am trying to make it happen again, but no luck.
So far, have left receiver for one night on an MPEG-4 HD local (103), then next night on a 119 channel and then on a 110 channel. Guide was perfect each time.

I guess it's time for me to go back on the SWM port and track the guide problem.
