Just now my H21 popped up with a message:

"The receiver would like to change the channel at 11:01p in order to receive DIRECTV Data."

Is this an update being pushed down to us or is this some sort of bug? I guess I'll find out in 1 minute.

    Edit: New software found, 0x400C

Just looked up at TV and the H21 is downloading 0x400C.

Was watching baseball game, walked away, now downloading all by itself.

Ok, back up and running with my H21. Whole process including download of sat data took about 13 minutes. First few hours of guide info populated successfully. System info screen confirms 0x400C installed at 11:00pm.

Unable to notice any changes so far, guess we'll have to wait for the release notes.

just checked hr20, doesn't show SWM level.

h21 shows swm firmware version as 1.0.1. swm library version as 1.0.0.

wonder if swm can be upgraded from h21?

all else seems to be working fine in 10 minutes of playing.

    really miss the 1-press guide.

Interesting question, I'm curious about the answer to this as well even though I do not have a SWM.

I would figure that the SWM will be upgraded without a H21 since it needs to work with an HR-20 only environment.

Oh yeah ... what I meant --> wonder if SWM firmware can be upgraded from a SWM capable receiver like the H21 (or HR20).

The H21 is soooo fast ... watching the Red Sox / Angels game on MLB EI and you can pop up the scores (red button) and scroll thru the scores lightning fast. Cool ...

Since the SWM is before the receiver and therefore needs to be a receiver itself, I think it would upgrade itself when D* sends the data, maybe late at night, and then would be no user interaction.

During the first SWM chat, DirecTV indicated that as far as software/firmware was concerned, the receiver, not the swm itself, would handle that. Whether that means the SWM is controlled entirely by a receiver, or whether it means that any firmware in the SWM would come via a receiver, I don't know.

I was in bed by this time and didn't check this AM, so I'll be excited to test when I get home. What else besides you getting your locals do you see?

I went upstairs right at 10:00 p.m. central, and when I turned the TV on the H21 was well into downloading, so I'm guessing they pushed it at 10:00....all went well, but I have no idea what they did with it yet.

I get the same message on a pushed download. It times out and takes the push if you don't intervene. Got new firmware last night at 10:00 p.m.

No glaring changes here, but I was about to fall asleep when it started.

In the early morning hours, I noticed the 1080 LED lit up, so I was expecting to find an update this morning. I like this feature of an LED coming on. Please leave that in so users can be notified that something has changed. Not sure if "Joe" will really notice or care but some of us do!

    Edit 1
Has anyone checked to see if we have a network menu yet?

    Edit 2
Perhaps Earl can post some release notes for us on this version!

    Edit 3
It was the 480 LED that was lit, not the 1080. Mine is set to 480 only. Waiting on TV to drop in price.
