Hello all! Back from vacation. :)

This isn't an issue, I think, just a note that I have the 1080i light on - possibly showing the update to 0x400C.

    480p Pillar Issue
I was checking the channels and found that the black bars between an SD image and the Dark Grey Pillars appears larger than normal. I don't think there should be black bars at all actually. Running on Component.

Note: The Black bar is different sizes depending on what content is showing. I'd say there's about a half inch on both sides.

    Content Flash Issue
I'm still getting the flash between changing channels from an HD local to an SD local as per Earl's Issue of the previous release. XM Channel, which I had it PWR cycled on flashes briefly when I switch between HD and SD.

    Dripping...
Got it last night about 10PM CDT.

    Issues:

    - Still has problem if H21 and Dell W3201C are power on at the same time where HDMI doesn't have audio, need to power Dell on 1st, wait for it to come up, then the H21

    - After reboot had guide data. Left H21 tuned to ch 376 (NASA) overnight, this morning, the guide has nothing but regular schedule.

    - When I ran the sat signal test after the download sat 99/tp0 which normally is 0 showed 100, which is what sat 119/tp32's reading was, then changed to 0 after it actually tested 99/tp0. This happened if I let the test for 119 complete all the way so tp32 had the 100 in its reading. If I didn't let the 119 test complete all the way then 99/tp0 did show 0 as its initial reading. After the reboot due to the guide problem I can't recreate this.

    - Key bounce from the remote is MUCH better on this release.

Game Lounge, Active, and Mix channels are still working well. Still loading in 7-10 seconds.

When pressing INFO for three seconds to get to test, left arrow still takes you back to programming, unlike HR20. I say, make it consistent, but change HR20! I like it this way!

Transponder signal levels are now 2-3 points higher than before (including some 100's) . They used to be within 1-2 points of HR20 and are now consistently higher.

After the update, I had the same issue where the resolution light was lit and it took a double press of the on button to start things up.

My only issue with this is, if you're using the button to turn TV & receiver on, and if you're receiver uses a toggle code for power (same code for on and off) then you push once, that turns on the TV but not the receiver. Then you push again and the receiver turns on but the TV turns off. You need to press a third time to get everything on.

Issue - Tuner Failed in H21 test

Can it be Duplicated - Not yet

Steps to see the failure -
    1. First time system was turned on after firmware download.
    2. No audio/video was observed, pressed guide button, audio/video was initiated
    3. H21 was on a local SD channel
    3. Pressed menu => settings => setup => info & test => system test => run test

Tuner test fail, repeated test kept failing. Ran test 4 times.
Changed channel to 79 while still in the test screen by going up to the live tv screen.
Ran test, it passed. Could not repeat the failure.

    Date of H21 Install - 07/12/2007
    Current FW - 0x400C
Type of Sat Dish - 5LNB AT9, Single line feed to BBC => Sat In
    H21 Full Reset - Never
    H21 Networked - Not Used
H21 HDMI Connection - Not Used
H21 Component Connection - Not Used
    H21 Composite Connection - Yes
    H21 S-Video Connection - Not Used
H21 Native Mode Setting - On
    H21 Format Resolution Setting - 480p only
H21 Phone Connection - Yes, all the time
H21 Fiber Audio Connection - Not Used
H21 RCA Audio Connection - Yes
    H21 Dolby Setting - Off
    H21 Zip Code - 78641

Notes - Woke up this morning and noticed the 480p light on. Got excited thinking that the reboot and download of the new firmware changed the LED's. That was exactly what had happened. An update to 400C was on the H21.

When channel changing between MPEG-4 Locals and SD locals... I am getting an even "worse" background screen then I was before.

Previously it was just a banner... now it is a full screen DirecTV logo

Not an Issue exactly... more of a concern. ;)

It's taking a lot longer to acquire satellites 99 and 103. I started typing because I had thought I wasn't getting any signal on 99 or 103 at all - just registered 0's. I looked back real quick and they were starting to populate. All signals on 99 appear fine, just take an extra long time.

    Note:
I just re-checked, about 5 minutes after typing this thread, my first two Xponders on 99 were @ 32 and 96... Within that 5 minutes they dropped to 0 and are now back to previous measurements.

mine always did/do. It's like they look at only one TP on each sweep. So if you have #1 it will show up and then if #3 is the next one it takes 2-3 times longer and then another long time for #5 [I have 1,3,5 on 99]. For my 103 they're 2, 4, 6 and #2 takes longer than #1 did for 99.

Mine did too since the beginning but this seemed extremely long, almost twice as long as before. Could just be me being impatient. :)

Had a strange problem tonight .....

Turned on H21 and display was showing the first "Guide" display. Couldn't exit out of it. Also no active video in upper right corner, just black with flashes of "Searching for Satellite" or "Multiswitch Failure". Could not change channel. Was able to bring up Menu and Reset Receiver, then it was fine again.

Have not been able to repeat so far.
