Have Message "Press << to stream program"

    On my HR44/500 I get the message:

    "Press << to stream program from the beginning."

    Whenever I go to guide, menu, etc. It does go away when I return back to my show. Is this a known problem? Is there a way to fix this? I have Software version 0xd80, updated on 9/12

    that message is present when you tune to a channel that has that feature- If you want to use it on the remote press (<<) to rewind to the start. if you wish to clear that message on the remote (press) exit.

    I understand what it is. The problem is that it is ALWAYS on the screen whenever I enter any screen like the guide, menu, etc. If I press "Exit", the DVR leaves whatever screen I was on as well as the message.

    For instance, say I am watching a ball game. If I press the guide button on the remote, the guide appears with this message on the screen. The guide is obscured by this message at the bottom of the screen and I cannot see those items unless I scroll the guide up past the annoying message. Now if I push the MENU button to check my "toDo" list, the message is still there at the bottom of the screen. If I press EXIT, the DVR leaves the MENU screen and goes back to the ball game. When it returns to the ball game, the INFO screen is on as well as this annoying message. I can now wait for the INFO screen to time out, which will clear the annoying message, or I can press exit to clear the INFO screen and the annoying message.

    Have you tried a reboot or a clearmybox?

    suggest you look at Menu -setting- Display - PREFERENCES -
    Guide Shows- Grid Guide First
    Set Scrolling effects Off
    Banner Time -2 seconds

    What are your set at? Change them to What I have and see if it changes anything.

    Why didn't I try the obvious to start out? /slaps forehead.

    Yes rebooting the DVR cleared the problem.

    My setting are the same as yours with the exception of Banner Time - 4 seconds. Reboot as suggested by Compnurd worked. Was putting that off since it is my main receiver that is constantly recording. However I took the plunge (and 5 minutes) and rebooted. Fixed!

    How many times have we seen "it's fixed!" only to see "oops" a couple days later. Always hope that doesn't happen, but...
