Altitude sports, our regional sports network, which carries the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets, is trying to raise rates again. Apparently they are in danger of going dark on Dish Network, DirecTV and Comcast. If they do would they essentially be out of business? Unless there are some smaller cable system carrying them, I am not sure how they could survive without the big three?

Altitude Sports at risk of being dropped by major carriers

The Colorado Avalanche got eliminated by the Sharks in the second round of the NHL playoffs.
The Denver Nuggets made it to the semifinals.
The Colorado Rockies are broadcast by AT&T Sportsnet.

    Still.... the consumer loses.

They probably are trying to get more money because they think the nuggets will be really good this year. And I mean way more than carriers where expecting.

After reading the article... give me a break. Nonviable? Kronke could offer the channel for free he’s so rich. Just ridiculous. I hope it goes dark for a while till the season starts and they end up with a deal less than what they where getting before.

And why on earth did they have all those contracts end at the same time? That’s just stupid on their part.

Altitude is no longer on Directv. They have a page up for that channel and the guide says the channel is no longer available. They have been dropped by all 3 apparently.

Altitude Sports dropped from major TV distributors Comcast, DIRECTV
