    I don't think I was promised anything.

But if D* wants to send me something, I am cool with that ;)

Kinda bummed I was never offered any free gift. But I guess when I first became a customer, DTV was sort of a novelty, because honestly, I wasn't sure it was going to turn into what it is today. I've been a customer almost since DTV's inception. Back in the good old days of DTV providing regular broadcasting and USSB providing the premium channels. One sat receiver, single LNB dish, two bills, no local channels whatsoever, and nothing HD. Wow, has DTV and TV come a long way. Glad I've stuck with them. :)

Yeah I remember those days too. Back then I think Sears was the only distributor of D* or something. Spent $3000 on my first system as I remember.

Yep, Sears was it. You had either the option to buy an RCA receiver or a Sony. I opted for the Sony because it had the really "cool" blinking LED on the LNB to "assist" in the alignment of the dish. Still took me forever to get it properly aligned. But then again, it was the first time I ever fooled around with satellite crap. I don't remember how much I spent, but I do believe it was around $2,000.00 on sale.

Well when I upgraded my system last year they gave me so much free equipment and services, it's 10x better than the portable DVD player they offered. Multiple pieces of h/w and service credits that I didn't see a bill for months.

    It was Sweet!
