That's a page from D* ACCESS Magazine, showing the RSNs in HD - seems to be in conflict with the website. The sports channels are the ones I really want. The website shows the sports packages in 2008 - bah humbug.

yeah, really none of the channels launched today do anything for me. i'll never watch any of them. but the next batch i'm really excited for.

however, where are the RSN's in HD???? i'm gonna be upset if we don't have NHL games in HD this year.

We don't know what is going to happen with the launch of the new satellite. UP until this moment in time, if you were in the San Francisco DMA, you could see games probably 3 times a week in HD on channel 96. That was a "mish-mash" channel that DirecTV was using to get RSNs to a bunch of different markets - if your RSN was broadcasting, and D* chose to pick up the feed, you could see it on 96. However, they made a programming decision to limit which DMAs could receive the feed - so NESN was Boston only, FSN Bay Area was San Francisco only, etc...

I assume - since I haven't heard anything different - that until the RSNs start going up full time that those DMAs will still see their RSN broadcast on 96 at various times for various games....

Perhaps they'll even expand who is available to view the channel to a larger area... Who knows.

It's funny because for me - and I think for several people around here - our RSN is quite possibly the HD channel we yearn for the most.. and yet there isn't a whole lot of information about what's going to go on with them now that the new satellite is up.... And not alot of hooplah about their future arrival... So we all sit around and speculate, and dream of hockey in HD (the greatest sport in HD ever, I must say!! :D )

    Totally believable!

Are you seriously saying that HGTV and the Food Channel should be higher on the list than the History Channel?

After the SciFi Channel (for Battlestar Galactica in 2008), the History Channel was the highest on my wish list. Too bad they are stretching all the 4:3 stuff and have almost no real HD content...

Well, I wanted Science and History, but I wanted HGTV and Food more just like the other poster. HGTV & Food are pretty popular channels.

Anyone care to type these out for me?

I'm out of town using a crappy 5 year old laptop and want to send my wife a list of the current channels (which I have) and the upcoming channels. Some of those are so blurry on my laptop that I can't even tell what they are.

    Thanks

Not the least bit disappointing to me nor do I really desire them all that much but I am a bit surprised they didn't put up a full time HD PPV channel (or 12).

That will be to round out to "70" and then "100" of course.

Perhaps we should make a point to watch the few HD PPV programs, even if not all that interested, just to make a showing that there is a market out there.

Might be worth the money to get their attention.

Actually I wonder if this is such a good thing. My HR10 turned my wife and I into couch potatos! Nothing gets done around the house anymore! Our hobbies are in limbo. I spend half my time at work sneaking into this forum!

Yikes! I am an addict and a co-dependent!

You shouldnt notice a dif. in picture quality below 42" at normal viewing distance so I wouldnt call it a downside.

The channel I've wanted most is MHD. I'm disappointed it's not up, although I don't have the new dish yet anyway.

Sci-Fi has to be the absolute #1 priority for the next batch. End of discussion.

Agreed. Along with FX. Channels with real, scripted shows.
