I get the exact same thing on my account options. Oh well . . . no more 2.933-month free previews.
I'm gonna call and add today after my install is complete. Forgot to add it when I signed up for the new account.
During the summer 2008 Olympics I signed up for HD Extra Pack in order to receive Universal HD and the extra Olympics coverage. Looking at www.nbcolympics.com, UHD will only be showing brief replays of primetime coverage - i.e. nothing extra. So I'll be skipping the extra HD this go around.
I think HDExtra is a great deal. We watch more programs on those channels than we did on Showtime.
It's available again for 3 mos. free. Follow this link.
last time UHD was free for the games.
HDNet movies for $4.99 is a deal. 10 + bucks for HBO, Starz and err Show...Showthing or whatever it's called is a waste!
I have heard they are adding a new package above CHOICE EXTRA called CHOICE PLUS or CHOICE PREMIUM or something like that in February when prices change (not sure exactly of the name). It's like $5 more then Choice Extra. Anyone have any idea what that's about? Are they planning on removing programming from Choice Extra and charging $5 more to get it back? Tried Google and no luck.
I had the HD extra pack and I found myself not watching any of it....I thought the MGM-HD channel would be a lot better than it actually is...
I really like Palladia as well.
When you click through, sure it has a box saying limited time offer 3 mo's free but when you click to activate now, it says $4.99/mo. Can I trust that I will get free for 3 mo's if I activate this via this method?
I tried this link also and saw the same... 4.99
Called customer service to verify, and they told me I was being charged $4.99 for it! Told the nice lady I was not pleased at all and requested that I either be given the service free for three months, as promised, or have it wiped off. Took awhile, but they agreed to do it for free, minus 17 cents for one day's service.
Guess I should have known better by now.
I checked the link again today, and there was no mention of it being free for 3 months. Sorry for ther consternation.
I checked the link again just now and there still the box that says "Limited Time Offer, Free for 3 months." And when you try to activate, it still says $4.99. I want this package, but not that badly, so I'll wait until they figure out this contradiction here.
I added it online after my account was activated. Will see if it is free for 90
Here's what I think....I think they realized that people were cancelling it after 3 months and re-adding it a few minutes later (I know I did it 2-3 times :lol So they re-wrote the code for the web page (hence why you couldn't add the package for a few days) and now it knows whether you've had the 3 month free preview
I cancelled it and tried to add it back a few days later and it wouldn't give me the free 3 months, so I left it off my account and about 2 hours later I get yelled at from the other room that my wife couldn't watch one of her crime shows on CIHD
I probably used the 3 free months offer 4-5 times and the only thing I think I ever watch was Becker on one of the channels.
I'm still of the belief (for what reason I have no idea ) that the Extra HD package will either change significantly (more channels) or go away in favor of new HD channel "packaging" once the new D12 satellite is activated.
Maybe that's just my way of justifying the extra five bucks to myself each month.
For a package that so many of you don't seem willing to pay for you certainly work darn hard to try to scam your way into it for free.....
