Any word on CW in HD for Austin?
Any word on HD locals for Shreveport, LA DMA #84 yet?
I've given up on D* posting any upcoming HD locals on their web site.
According to this press release Butte-Bozeman, MT now has HD LiL.
I don't understand what the problem is with adding Huntsville AL locals????????
From D* own web site:
Huntsville Customer Contact Center
The Huntsville Customer Contact Center, located in the Tennessee Valley, is adjacent to the second largest research park in the U.S. The Huntsville Customer Contact Center employs more than 1,000 diverse employees whose commitment to excellent customer service results in a dynamic environment. The home of the Huntsville Customer Contact Center in Alabama has been named as Forbes' sixth most livable city in the U.S. and is also one of Forbes Top 10 Cities for Business.
D* added the last available HD station in the Lincoln-Hastings-Kearney, NE market: KHGI-13 (ABC) out of Kearney. D* now carries 2 ABC affiliates in HD for this DMA.
The addition of KHGI is notable because despite them broadcasting in HD since November (the others were uplinked in August except PBS, which came in December, I think) KHGI was unavailable to D* customers without the 72.5 dish. New customers since last August did not have the 72.5 dish installed anymore since the SD receivers can all receive MPEG4. So KHGI has been shut out to new D* customers (and those who upgraded to HD and took down their 72.5 dish) for nearly 6 months, until yesterday. Supposedly KHGI involved the state Atty Gen and congressional delegation to get this uplinked...
What would be really awesome this fall is if on those rare occasions when 2 different Big 12 teams' games are on at the same time, KHGI carries a different game from KLKN (the Lincoln ABC affil). Of course, if the Huskers are playing, both will certainly be carrying the Huskers...
It looks like Lafayette, IN is getting HD locals. I just wish I could get any locals via satelitte here in Charlottesville, VA. Still patiently waiting for D12 to launch and crossing my fingers.
Darkscream, while the guide shows KWKB having a HD feed, my picture on that channel is definitely not HD. In fact, I don't think KWKB has the equipment in place yet. Does this just mean that once KWKB gets it installed that it's ready to go on D*'s end? I've emailed KWKB inquiring but to no repsonse. Do you have any info?
They are now posted on the directv.com website and the lists have been updated.
According to D*, the locals in Odessa-Midland TX are supposed to go HD tomorrow. When D* adds local HD, what time do they go "hot"?
6:00 AM, ET, IIRC.
Thanks! Looking forward to not having stretched crappy looking Fox here. D* is downconverting HD Fox here for the SD and it looks worse than any of the other locals.
HD LiL lists updated for Seattle and Orlando Ion additions. The Orlando addition is the second Ion local channel DirecTV is providing in HD.
All LiL lists are updated for the Odessa-Midlands, TX addition and others.
New HD LiL lists updated with Reno, NV additions. I also am trying a solution for the dual HD stations in certain markets-the Los Angeles PBS stations, and Grand Rapids and Lincoln ABC stations. Let me know if it's an acceptable solution.
Works for me.
Based on the RSN dual lines you probably can color 1/2 the box if one has HD news and the other not.
Channel 40 -- Sarasota ABC affiliate now added in HD to Tampa customers
BTW this channel is showing up in what looks like upconverted HD even on many national ABC feeds... is it this way in Sarasota? or is it just screwed up in Tampa for some reason?
I've updated the HD LiL lists with the following additions:
Hartford, CT: WEDH 24 (PBS)
Jacksonville, FL: WJXT 4 (Independent)
New York: WEDW 49 (PBS, MPEG4 only)
Orlando, FL: WMFE 24 (PBS), WRDQ 27 (Independent)
Providence, RI: WEDN 53 (PBS)
Anyone with any magical insight on new markets? Will the new sat launch help? My local market seems on the cusp, when ranked by DMA size.
