All of my recorded programs from last night are heavily pixilated. The today show is unwatchable this morning. This is to the point of being ridiculous.

I called DTV concerning this and I was cut off when talking with the first CSR. I called back and told them about the problem. I was asking if there was anyway that they could activate 80-88. (Network HD's for those that don't have local access) I was told this could not be done without a waiver from the FCC and that it usually took 45 days. I told the CSR that's about how long it takes DTV to resolve the pixelation problem. CSR was unable to pull up my account or schedule someone to come out and "fix" the problem because their system was updating. I wonder why, if their CS hours start at 8AM that the system has to update at that time. No Jags game in HD for me.

Pixelation appears to be gone, but now audio is out of sync on all local hd channels.

On the phone with DirecTV right now trouble shooting, found a temp solution to the audio out of sync. CSR told me rewind 30 secs and then go back to live broadcast and it should fix the problem (it didn't).

However, what I did notice is if you rewind for 10 secs and then play without going back to live broadcast the audio is in sync. CSR doesn't seem to understand what I am trying to tell her as I had to explain it several times in many different ways. But on the up side she seems like a real nice motherly type

CSR is working the issue and sending to the techs for action and I just noticed a banner on the ABC 25 HD channel that DTV was aware the channel was not available so I guess they are working the issue.

Directv is broadcasting WJxX (Ch. 4) in SD even though it is available in HD. But, my complaint is that the SD picture on ch. 4 of my directv has the top and bottom cut off. i am using an HR21 Directv DVR. Has anyone else noticed this?
If you are watcing football, the area at the top of the screen with the score/down/distance/etc cannot be seen. Even during the local news, the "4" logo is only half visible at the bottom of the screen.

I must not have seen the announcement...but I noticed tonight that DirecTV is now carrying the HD feed for Channel 17's the CW. Recorded and watched both Smallville and Supernatural.

Damn looks like we will have to wait until next week to see these two shows in HD. I have it set to record both on two of the hr21s but wasn't aware that 17 had the HD feed (Directv should send out a email or something when they make changes). Just Disabled the regular feed and added the A3 feed in Custom 1and cancelled the reg recordings and added the HD ones. Thanks for the info. :)

That's great.. It would also be nice if they carry channel 4 soon - now that they are starting to broadcast the news and other shows in HD..

Seriously. That was a big surprise that an independent station would manage to beat the network affiliates in providing local HD news and syndicated programs.

Now, if we could only convince all of them to carry the 5.1 audio.....:D

Well, I only found out by accident. I was checking to see if DirecTV had rolled out PBS to us yet and had to look twice to realize that while that hasn't happened yet, the CW was there!

Since I was able to catch it in time and re-set the series links to the DirecTV feed, I could toggle back and forth last night to compare the OTA with the MPEG4 streams. If there was a difference, I couldn't tell.

This will be good news for those who have been having trouble picking up channel 17 via OTA. Thanks DirecTV!

Did everyone else's issue with pixelation, freezing, skipping on locals go away? Mine's been bad for the last few weeks. Fox is the worst. I've switched most of my recorded programs to record OTA-HD. Except I can't seem to get FOX OTA for some reason. Thanks... Ralph

I had issues with freezing on the SNL I recorded from Saturday night on WTLV. Anyone else?

    Jacksonville...
I haven't been able to pick up channel 7 since they switched to digital only (and switched their HD frequency to 7 - they used to use 38 for its RF HD broadcasts). This is on a HR20-700 (which doesn't scan for channels - it is dependent on a fixed frequency list). Does any know if Directv has updated its HD frequency list to reflect WJCT's change?

I have a HR20-700 and have had to keep an OTA to pick-up channels 4 and 7 in HD. I haven't had any problems.

It isn't? Directv's website says that it is. Newshawk in the HD Locals by Market threads indicates that it is. Are you guys not recieving it?

Sorry - didn't check my spelling - I meant to say "NOW" not "NOT" -- Channel 4 is indeed HD on Directv.

    sorry about that.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but as a long time resident of Jacksonville (departed last August) I don't remember ANY HD programming on Channel 4. What is in HD on that station now?
