So it appears as though the HD Locals in Boston are out, and have been for a few hours.
Anyone here have any idea why, or whats up? All I'm seeing is a message not to call them, and to switch to SD channels.
What gives? I feel like I have cable.

I thought it was originally due to the heavy rain today but apparently not :(

Heavy rain would not yield a message, it would have knocked all signals out for a very short period of time. This is something very odd, very rare.
Hey I have a buddy in Danville!

    Same thing in Raleigh, NC.

Do they have anywhere they post about service outages? They clearly know about it based on the message on the tv.

uh oh, I hope this isn't serious
I do not know of any area on their web site for reporting such things. I have seen messages on their home page in the past when it involved a broadcaster holding them up, but that is not the case here I suspect.

Check the transponders signal strength on the two or three used for your locals. If they are on, but there is no programming, then the bird is ok. More than likely a break in the fiber line from the East coast to Colorado.

I sent a tweet to @DIRECTService, and they responded very quickly and said that the broadcast center is still working to resolve the problem. That was 2 hours ago. They didn't say how many markets were out.

You are only interested in the two or three transponders on one of the (s) satellites used to send your locals in HD. The others may have 0 and be fine. Since yours is only one of several east coast cities that are out, I suspect its the feed rather than the satellite.

From the latest transponder listing, it appears Boston uses the 99(s) satellite transponders 15, 17 and 22

Since you said 22 was a 0, the ones showing to be on 22 are WCAX, WVNY and WNNE.
