    Philadelphia market, Atlantic City.

Last night there was no NBC-10 so I couldn't watch the NJ Devils hockey game. I noticed NBC was out at 4:30 PM Eastern. I also found around 10PM that the PBS channel 12 was out too.

This morning, all the broadcast channels are out. I'm pretty unhappy.

Channel 9 in the Boston market has stayed on through this but is suffering from quite a bit of breakup. They have not turned on HD DNS.

This looks to be a major outage.

Philly, RDU, Charlotte and Boston have been reported as out - any other cities?

Most annoying I had to watch the hockey game in SD last night. Figured it would be back this morning but still no luck.

Same here! A little frustrated that the outage has lasted this long. Stilll, my experience with DTV has been so positive, that i'm willing to be a bit more patient. I did have CBS for a while, even though that was gltiching too, dont have it at all now.

Me too, but I'm still a DTV newbie and I didn't know about turning SD on in the menu. Watched the game via an unauthorized European stream on the internet. Youtube definition. :(

For those like me, here's the advice from DTV's twitter:

The outage is HD only. You will need to turn on SD (standard definition) Menu>Settings&Help>Settings>Display>Pref>GuideHD= Show all Channels

And make sure the SD channels are not left out of your guide, for instance, if you have a Favorites set up. Turning on the dupes does no good if they are removed from your guide.

That says they know there is a problem and are working hard to correct it. They say tune to your SD channels until the issue is resolved.

We are close to 20 hours near the Raleigh area. Customer service says no ETA and no credit to subscribers. A few hours I can understand, but almost 20 and they say no credit!!

Amazing, imagine all those advertising dollar going down the tubes for the local stations. What will Directv do to make good to all those local stations that took money for advertising and have been black? I would say there is going to be some litigation over this, since Directv has a pretty decent number of subscribers in the affected areas. We don't care that much because there is nothing we really want to watch (no season passes, etc.), and watching in SD for any extended period would stink. Has Directv made any officials recognition of the problem other than the screen message?

No credits from DTV? This is going to be interesting, maybe even ugly if they don't get it figured out soon. I can just see the next (you name it) Cable Co. commercials being produced right now. You can bet the folks at Comcast know all about this. A few hours. Understandable. But nearly 24 hours? It must be something major to repair/fix.

Your SD locals are down too? I am sure there is something in the TOS allowing loss of channels without compensation.

In any case, all the locals cost customers is 16 cents a day...and if you still have your SD locals, well, good luck on a refund.

This is bullcrap. I think everyone in the affected areas should call and complain.
