I just ordered the 622 (the $299 lease) and was told by the CSR that I wouldn't need a Dish1000 since I already have a legacy dish pointing to 110/119 as well as a second dish pointing to 61.5. I asked if she was sure since I assumed that all the local HD channels were only available on 129. She mentioned several times that I wouldn’t need 129 since I already had 61.5 and all the local HD channels are also available on 61.5. I’m in the San Francisco Bay area, and looking at the info on Lyngat, I don’t see any SF Bay HD locals on 61.5… can anyone confirm this?

I also live on the SF BAY, I was told the same thing, that all local HD channels are also available on 61.5. I had them replace the 500 for the 1000, mostly because I have 3 dishes on my roof and wanted to eliminate at least 1 dish. It turns out that Now I can eliminate the second also which was pointing to the 148 for CBSHD.

Current information places at least one SFO HD local on 129. You won't need another dish because they can probably just repoint your 61.5 dish. By most accounts, this is the preferred setup for the Left Coast.

Thanks for the links. That clears things up. So seems that most SF Bay HD locals are on 119... and there are a couple (KICU and KRON) locals on 129 (these are ind. channels, so I don't really care if I get these or not). Hopefully they add the PBS local to 119, that way I won't need 129 now or in the future. Wow, so CSR was actually right ;)
