    Ah sun fire. Good stuff.

Usually avrs can be set so if they get a 2 channel signal they can move to something else like dts neo6 which is how I set my Denon. Then if it gets true 5.1 it goes to that.

Are you still getting all the vocals an such? I recall back in the day, and I think it's still there, if you hit the green button in the ok remote during live tv you can cycle through the output formats. Maybe try that and see if you can go to regular PCM and then he surround for those shows that are an issue. At least for now.

I stopped watching the 11PM news on CBS due to Letterman following it and his humor seems meanspirited to me.

Then ABC Moved Nightline so it does not follow the 11PM news and I do not like the show that follows so that is on the way out too.

    NBC news is so so..

Well I still am. I keep harping on the center channel, but what I should say is that I only have left and right as if it were in stereo.
It is missing center and surround.
But it is showing up in a DD format so that I cannot adjust my stereo to fix it.

But the national shows like last nights Person of interest are fine audio wise.

But the video glitches are across everything they put out. Last night during that same show there were at least 10-20 stall points.
The video stops and then comes back seconds later pixelated and then clears, jumping forward in the show.

Both DVR's pick it up the same way as did my HR20's before, and no other channel I watch does it.

I have put in a request to get a different CBS affiliate. 5 years of this is intolerable.
I will check in a few days if it was approved.
If they don't, then my next step is to start moving up the chain of command at Directv.

Spoke with Directv again. She said she would resend it to the engineering dept and apologized for the inconvenience.
She also said they are bound by federal law. And even though my local CBS feed is "flawed", it is the only one they are allowed to offer.

No, I am out of range of just about everything.
That site says I can get ABC out of WPB, but even that is not possible the way I sit down below the horizon in this neighborhood.

Well at the risk of jinx, it has been one full week now and it looks like they fixed it.

Once again, no call with an explanation, so I don't know who "they" are.
I don't know if it was Directv or WPEC or both.

So I have my 5.1 audio back and the video glitches are not happening.

    That was quick.
    Audio is out again.
    Worst station ever.

    Update:
WPEC had so many audio and video issues in the last year, Directv gave me a discount off my bill.
But that does not help me view CBS programming, and I had another conversation with a CSR today.
She renewed my discount and filed another technical escalation.

But I am desperately seeking another CBS solution for the day that Colbert starts on Letterman's timeslot.
I am hoping that this CBS streaming can be bought and distributed by Directv.
