Is that the TP15 on 110º I picked out? Lyngsat only shows the nine SDs (including a test card for the pulled PI).
    175, 179, 9400, 9402, 9403, 9404, 9406 (test), 9407, 9408.

Yes, TID 215 is Tp 15 at 110w.

Lyngsat does not show the WOW channels(104, 125, 196, 197 and 198) which are all together just one channel. Also, OpenTV data channels are not posted at Lyngsat.

I really hope they don't add TMC-HD. What a waste. SHO-HD has been bad enough for the short time I have had it. In reguards to HD sports it's a nice start how Mark Cuban can get his Dallas Mavericks games on DBS but what is the point if it's only available in the Dallas area? I hope NBA TV and HD NET will have twice the amount of coverage come next season. I am first in line to buy a HD package that can get me alot of Flyers and Phillies games. If I lived in freakin Philly i'd have that option

you can get the NBA TV channel 24 hours on channel 402 and 560, they are both the same channel. The NBA in HD is only used for live games.

Strz-hd and cinemax hd are ACTIVE on some cable networks already. Sadly, it appears cable can add HD routinely and those of us with crap network dicraptv will wait and wait and wait and wait and then a huge hubbub will be made when 1 hd channel is added and well all say they are genius's for finding the bandwidth. this really bites- i subscribe to Starz--I should have Starz HD the day it was available. 7 more months and I will have a new garbage can lid.

StarzHD isn't available to E* subscribers, the day it is available you will have it.
We just have to get Charlie to see it as "compelling" HD.

I believe they got caught out by the problems with 105º. They delayed dealing with HD all summer waiting for 105º to come up as their crown jewel of HD, and when that fell through E* concentrated their efforts on digging out of that hole. Shifting channels to 121º and 110º and shoehorning in the new HD at 110º just to get by.

Now they have just enough space to spare for the four channels mentioned. And that comes at a cost of practically filling the satellite. They are also having issues getting HD receivers to market. If they were to add more HD now it would increase the demand for the product even further beyond the supply.

Would that tick off customers even more than not introducing channels?

That's the question that Charlie must answer while on his relentless search for "compelling HD content".

What's your source on this? Most comments seem to indicate that it's going to be several months, not weeks. I'm a longtime dish networker. i dont have any satellite HD at the moment (just so-so SD package), but I do receive beautiful HD programming via the CBS, NBC and ABC affiliates in the New Orleans area. When E* adds the STARZ-HD package, which for my tastes is the best deal, that's when I'll buy an 811.

Sometimes when you look up at the sky for little birdies you get white crap in your eye. That said, nothing would make me happier to have more HD on 110, except maybe an Advanced Programming Guide that maps OTA channels (like DirecTV has had for 2 years) to go with it.

That would be a truly good start to a new year.

I wrote 2005 and I meant 2005. No, I do not have "inside" information. The remark was in response to earlier posts and Charlie's "no compelling" HD programming comment. No one here would question Charlie's judgement on what is compelling and what is not. Truth is, Charlie already serves up a ration of largely uncompelling TV, so that is not the real reason for the HD delay. If 105 had worked as intended, we would all have a superdish and be already watching 10-15 HD channels, with more to come Q1 04. It's all about bandwidth, or lack thereof.

In a final, tepid effort to squelch the ugly rumor that I possess any inside or advance information,
to quote Sgt. Schultz "I know nussing!" ;)

I'm trying to receive as many HD channels as possible through Dish Network. I subscribed to their HD package and all the channels (especially Discovery HD) look awesome. I also receive HBO-HD, and when they're broadcasting in HD, the picture looks great.

So, I decided to subscribe to Showtime for their HD Channel. To me it looks like a regular digital channel upscaled to fill my 16:9 screen. I then went to TitanTV to see what HD prgrams Showtime is broadcasting, and TitanTV says "nothing". TitanTV says all the Showtime programs on their HD channel are not HD. What gives? Does Showtime broadcast any shows or movies in HD?

What about StarZ HD? Why doesn't Dish offer this channel? Has anyone any insight on VOOM as an alternative to receive HD channels? I know they're expensive ($700+) to get started, but, if one can afford it, would it be a good add-on to Dish for their HD channels?

It is only 2004? I thought you meant the January 15th that was coming next and thanks to you I've been writing 2005 on my checks!

Just kidding  ... I don't write checks. My wife writes enough for both of us! :eek2: But I did read that as "in a couple of weeks on the Thursday after the next Charlie Chat and Retailer Chat". And I believe it will be much closer to this January 15th than the one you noted.

Yes, there is HD on SHOW-HD, but not all of SHOW-HD is HD.

StarzHD is a) in the works and soon to be added or b) not compelling and will not be added until at least the 2nd quarter. Pick A or B depending on who you want to believe. (I'm leaning toward "A".)

For VOOM you may wish to lurk that forum. From what I have seen they had plenty of problems getting it all together. It is a very expensive service, but if it fits your spending and viewing needs it may help fill the HD gap.
