Help! Can't acquire guide data.

    On our HR44 it was frozen on a full screen ad like you get when you pause it for too long. I did the RBR to reboot. Probably an hour later there was a message that said no guide data was received for over an hour. I hit ok and it went away. I don’t think I’ve seen this before. The iPhone app won’t load a guide either. Are the servers down?

    Direct tv on my iPad is messed up just went into to watch duke Michigan st and it’s starting over every time with Michigan Louisville game at the beginning

    This same exact thing happened roughly a year ago or so. It's a problem on their end for sure. As others have said, as long as you dont reset, you'll be ok.

    All I did was press ok to dismiss the message. That does not mean the problem is fixed. Things will work fine unless you reboot which will fail as noted in other posts, until DirecTV fixes the problem on their end.

    Received same message when I returned home a little bit ago...Also, some games are not coming through on the NBA LP channels. Can still watch the games on the actual network channel. For instance, the Lakers game is coming through on 691 (SportsNet) but not LP channel 757

    This happened this spring on mlb ei it didn’t remapped those channels sounds like the same for league pass

    I just had a service call last week. Technician did a slight re-alignment of my dish. On top of that it has been snowing in my area for 2 days so I had to clear the dish of some snow. Now getting the guide data error and when I ran a system test it gave me a dish alignment error code of 41-016. So I both had a dish realignment done and I brushed snow off my dish so when I got the dish alignment error I thought it might be that the tech did not tighten the dish enough so that I knocked the dish out of alignment when I brushed off the snow or 2 day snow storm knocked it out of alignment.

    OK I have some weird coincidences concerning this so can I confirm that this is a Directv problem and that the dish alignment error that I get is not actually an alignment problem? Thanks.

    Same here. Well, had that message on living room tv, and pressed ok, and it went away. My wife saw the message on bedroom tv, and she rebooted it. No tv on that one. Stuck at 98% of guide data.

    Well I just ordered DISH after 15 years with Direct tv. Ill get more channels and it will save me over $50 a month. Dont care about sports or hbo. Supposed to be here friday. After active Ill cancel Direct tv.

    I'm getting that error too, but I can confirm with my other tv, that all my signal strengths are fine,and I have clear skies.

    Thank you for the reply. Just my luck I just had a dish realignment and brushed snow off the dish and then I got an alignment code error when running system test so until I saw this thread I thought that was my issue. It must be that because we are not getting the guide data from whatever satellite carries it that the system test is coming up with the dish alignment error.

    I've had Directv almost 20 years. I have had no problems with Directv until recently when I had to replace a defective HR20 and they gave me a HR24 which has had constant audio drop outs. That was the reason for my service call but I still have the problem and I have tried 2 HR24s. Now this Guide Data issue. SInce the ATT take over Directv is not what it was.

    I am close to switching to Xfinity on their current Black Friday special $79.99 plus equipment fees with a $150 Visa gift card. I can't go to Dish as they long ago stopped carrying the RSN that televises Boston Celtics games.

    So with this outage tonight, and just finding out my bill is going up another $10 plus tax in January, I called DirecTV legacy loyalty department (800-824-9077) discussing the issues, and received $45/mth off my bill for the next 12 months. I'm currently getting $59/mth off which expires after January. The call took less than 15 minutes.

    The call center which answered was in the Caribbean, but a really nice CSR.
