So I bought a Samsung 6300 and now Directv is glitchy. Nothing else is. And it wasn't on my old Samsung. Can someone help me understand why? Directv has no idea. I don't want to return this tv.

    Thanks

Describe "glitchy" also we need information about your DIRECTV gear, so far we don't have the technology to see thorough the PCs....

Also, while we wait for more info, have you tried other sources, DVDs, Blue Ray, etc on that same TVs. Is it "glitchy". If the receiver was working before and the only thing that changed was the TV, then it may be obvious where the problem Amy lie...

It's an hr44-700 thru hdmi to tv. I just reconnected to old tv and no pixelation. When connected to new tv the bluray works so does playing dvrd shows. But regular DTV comes in and then gets pixeled every so often. Like 5 times a minute.

No other issues with other receivers. I called DirecTV and went through tech-support. Reset the receiver tried a few more things and nothing worked. I have tried multiple HDMI cables still happening

So I changed to another receiver and it works fine. No idea why it can't be used with the genie. We will see if a tech can figure it out tomorrow.

That should be interesting. BTW, calling D* and expecting "tech support" is useless. You'll get better info here. Do you remember what channels you were having problems with? Were those channels 720p or 1080i?

I seem to remember that my new 4k Samsung will not do 480i, but will do 480p. ?
Could have this resolution checked and landed on a channel that is 480i.

Check to see what resolutions you have checked in the receiver that is working and compare it to the one that is giving you a problem.

make sure your HDMI cable supports 4k. Change HDMI cable and got a "What did you do to my TV?"

HR44 is not 4K so that should not matter.

He didn't figure out anything. My options are to change the receivers around and put the genie on a different TV or return the TV I bought. I've been trying to change the receivers around but I have a leaven tuners and so I'm having issues keeping only eight on the SWM

It would help if you describe your entire setup. Then we can suggest how you could rearrange things and make it work.

To clarify though the genie has no glitches in other rooms? I'd look at cabling and other things on the coax line heading to that location. There is a cause.

And of course did you check to see if there's a software update for you actual tv?

Good idea to check for updates. I have had my new 4k Samsung 7000 since Nov 23 and it has had 2 updates already. Don't have a clue what they were for.

They just keep coming. At least they don't seem to cause problems.

I still would love to see a description or a video of what is being described as "glitchy".

Have you tried it on another TV HDMI port other than HDMI 1?

It will be pixelated like if it were raining out. About every 10 seconds on all the channels. I have changed hdmi ports and cables. Only thing I can do is try a new tv. Even though it's the receiver because no other receiver is doing this to the tv.

I could wait and hope an update fixes this. We tried component cables too

What resolutions do you have checked in the DirecTV receiver that is giving the problem ?
Uncheck all of them except 720p and 1080i and try it.

Any thing could be a possibility with the new 4k tv's since there is no set slandered for them yet and compatibility issues dealing with them are big. If all your other TVs work with your present equipment then it more then likely a problem with your new 4k TV. Your new 4k TV should work the same with all your receivers and standard HDTV cables. The only time you will need to change your HDTV cable and reciever is when you plan to watch programs in 4k from Directv. If you decide to watch 4kTV skip the Directv equipment upgrade and just stream from Netflix app on the tv. Check with your broadband provider to make sure that you have the right broadband speed that will handle 4k streaming.
