HMC PC Playback Client Software v.3920 Issues/Discussion

    HMC PC Playback Client build 3920:
    ftp://dtvuser:urt46kd7@clu-ftp.gocyberlink.com
    For this build, the we need to have an activation key and the PC must be connected to internet while installing the software in order to properly activate. Only a limited amount of PCs that can use the same key, therefore only 1 PC for each of us for now. More activation keys are being sought.

    Please use the following key: DT411351575H8192 (again one for each of us)

    Issues fixed on client:
    • new recording or recorded deleted are updated on Client
    • relative time in trickplay while program is recording
    • Option to verify client build number (Help option, Title)
    • Downloaded VOD playback!
    • Showcase playback
    • Recording ICON polish
    • Trick play bar duration info polish

    Known defects: During stress trickmodes issues, the application crashes and both the PC and HD DVR have to be rebooted. Only during high stress trickmodes though.

    The software starts by uninstalling the older version first.

    Let you know more as I get mine done. :)

    I did not know that. I just removed the old software before I did anything.

    The serial number appears to already be there OR it took it out of the clipboard where I put it with CTL V

    As I mentioned in another thread, it was downloading very slowly (390KBPS (bits not bytes).


    Well, it wasn't exactly true about the serial number. It was also asked for at the first run. That's when I had to enter it myself.


    I don't think it will do much until the DVR release later tonight. Just says can't play DTCP content.

    You will need the activation key again at the first run.

    Both running and closing the DirecTV.exe application causes Vista to completely hang for approximately 15 - 17 seconds. This same behavior occurred with the previous version.

    Codecs that get installed with the application still break Windows Dreamscene in Vista Ultimate. Receive the following error when trying to set an MPEG video that was included in the Dreamscene content pack from Microsoft:

    This is what WMP shows when trying to play the same Dreamscene MPEG video:

    The MPEG video still plays fine with Media Player Classic though... this is what it's supposed to look like:

    As with the previous version, removing the application fixes these issues and Dreamscene performs normally.

    I am having a problem and can not figure it out. Installing the old software I did not have a problem at all. Three times now I have tried to move the software over to my desk top so I could install it and as soon as it finishes copying to the desk top I get a error message.

    Any idea how to fix it? I even tried starting over again and still the same problem.

    Start by attaching the file and saving the post. (Maybe preview first). Then edit the post to add the img tags.

    Sorry, I just realized we are talking about different things. I get this message when I try to copy the software over to my desk top so I can install it.

    Should we also try to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling this software to troubleshoot?

    Download bounces from 30+ to 70+ KB/s, but over 2/3 of the way there.

    Dreamscene broke for me too. Using Nvidia graphics card.

    Also looks like this version of software does not work with the current version of software on the HR20.

    I noticed the file says 2ch i'm assuming it can't push surround sound through the pc at this time? I never thought to check this in the last version.
