Well in HD your eyes just burn from the horrible Nashville uniforms. So kind of a wash.

It really is. I think NESN and MSG have some of the best PQ in hockey.

Looks like scenario experienced in the past: you get 3 teams in HD but not all 4. Looks like you'll have to settle for the CBJ HD feed on 772-1.

Furthermore, it appears the MSG+2 feed not be on Center Ice tonight, SD or HD. At least I only see one feed listed on the CI channels, which is shown to be HD and is presumably the Columbus feed.

Looking at Friday's CI schedule, I see dual feeds for Devils/Islanders, but only one HD feed. Devils feed is on MSG+2 that afternoon.

No sign of an overflow HD telecast in the next two weeks. Would be nice to know what happened. These SD feeds are practically unwatchable.

Channel 637 says" game not available in your area" it directs you to the Columbus feed. Called DirecTV. they had no answer xceept a riduculous reason which does not even mentioning....

You're not missing anything. It's horrible. At least the Columbus telecast is in HD.

My dvr did not pick up the devils feed on the msg overflow. Wonder what happened to that hd feed. Friday looks like the same deal. They seem to be getting bumped to msg+2 a lot lately which i didnt mind due to it now being hd but tonight is hopefully just a bad fluke

For those wondering, the reason why the Devils feed wasn't on CI tonight was because there was not enough channel space in the 700's to list all of the feeds of all the games prior to 10PM ET. There were one too many feeds for the number of CI channels available, so DirecTV had to drop one of the feeds from the package. Since they apparently only had the SD version of the Devils feed, I suspect that was why they took that one off of CI. This situation occurs a couple of times a year, when there are a lot of games scheduled that overlap. It's rare, but it does happen.

And no, this is NOT a bandwidth issue - it's just an issue of not having enough channels in the 700's range for all feeds. Whenever a feed is not mirrored in the 700's, that feed is always blacked out even if the game is part of the CI package.

BTW can anyone in the NY area confirm if the Devils feed was truly SD only, or did DirecTV pick up the HD feed after all? I ask because I am now seeing MSG+2 HD feeds upcoming on Friday and Saturday, which weren't listed a few hours ago. I wonder if this might have been an oversight on D*'s part.

SD only for sure and it was horrible. Last night the guide was showing no HD for the MSG+2 of Isles/Devils but that changed this morning and the guide is showing the game in HD on 637-1. Both the Devil and Isle feeds are also showing in the guide as as SD and HD.

So you're telling us there was no way for D* to go pass channel 787 last night? :sure:

I'm wondering if the reason why we didn't get the Devils in HD last night is because MSG can only do 3 HD streams at once? I thought I remember reading that on here once.

I can confirm the Devils game WAS available in HD. Between the 2nd and 3rd period of the Rangers game on MSG the highlights for the Devils game shown during intermission were in HD. It is possible however, that as stated above MSG only had 3 feeds available yet still produced in HD.
