I hope for no reseedings, then I could do an office pool without having to explain reseedings. Direct matchups all the way!

An all-Canadian final would be worse for ratings, at least in the U.S. Maybe they should've made an all-Canadian conference?

But yeah, I doubt they will reseed in the playoffs, for the very reason you mentioned.

Too bad that they just wouldn't go to two conferences of 15 teams each, 1 - 8 in, 9 - 15 out. A balanced schedule for all teams in your conference and the rest of the games, in the other conference, evened out.

Blackouts were off the wall tonight. Sabres played, it was on, the Rangers, Islanders and Devils were all blacked out. Sabres were at home, so where the Rangers. The Devils and Islanders were on the road. I can't seem to figure out how the New York State blackouts work. One day, I get 3 games, when they all play, next time, only one game. Can't figure it out!

If the Sabres are playing, the Rangers, Islanders, and Devils should be blacked out if they pay on the same day as well.

If I lived in an area subject to blackouts for so many teams, I'd move my service address.

We are far away from all 4 teams, being up near the Canadian border at the north end of I81. None of these cities are even close to being received Over The Air, in regards to local programming. I have a Shaw Direct system, from Canada, and it's zip code is close to Kingston, Ontario and has regional overlap games of Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. While the Sabres, Rangers Islanders and Devils were also playing at the same time as Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto last night, the 3 Canadian teams were all available but 3 of the 4 New York teams were not. What's with that?

Looking at those blackouts in the Albany area, why does Buffalo get so much preferential treatment? Albany is closer to NY City than Buffalo. Hell, Boston is even closer. They should go back to the old 75 mile radius rule, for local blackouts. Why a 200 mile blackout policy?

Always sorry to read the issues and inconsistencies the New York State guys are facing.

Apparently, I'm in a territory no one wants.

I'm 150 miles from Columbus, 180 from Chicago, and 225 from St. Louis.

When you type in my zip code on the RSN Info page, my RSN's for Choice and above give me the Blackhawks and Blues, but not Columbus.

And oddly this year, for Chicago and St. Louis games, I always get the opponents' feeds on CI, even when the Hawks are on WGN.

    They are never blacked out.

    Very strange...

Versus HD quality is awful.... that new NHL 36 series they just premiered looked terrible. (PQ-wise, not content-wise)

Yeah, Versus isn't the best quality HD channel on Directv. Must be a bandwidth issue.

The NHL is a bunch of clueless idiots when it comes to blackouts. They want to popularize the league, yet people like you and me get screwed out of seeing game, when we really shouldn't be.

I am in a radius where I can get 60 Rangers games(why just 60 I dunno) on MSG. The others I am blacked out on. Fine. If I can't get the game on MSG, then if it's on NHLN or Versus, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET THE GAME ON THAT STATION. But I can't(I even have CI too). Those networks think I should be getting the game on MSG. So I get NOTHING.

This doesn't just apply to Directv. It happens to cable too. The sad part is, if I lived in say Ohio and had CI, I could get every single Rangers game, on one station or another. Living here in CT in the 067xx zipcode, I cannot.

If the NHL wants to popularize the game, then if the game is being televised on a NATIONAL channel, even if it is regionalized coverage, EVERYONE should be able to SEE the game on either the regional channel or the national channel. That's currently not the case as some of us get NOTHING.

The NHL cares about nothing but its pockets. That is why I'm even quitting the Fan Council that I belong to..........Like they care about what I really have to say!!

Yeah, I get E Mails from some NHL fans council, that protested the lockout, many years ago. It didn't make one bit of difference on the NHL or NHLPA.

I don't know why they have different rules, for different parts of the country and different rules for Canada. It is insane.

I remember, when I had my first Directv subscription, here in Upper New York State, they gave me the Islanders/Devils/Rangers/Sabres/Penguins and there were no blackouts in my region. That was back around 1998 and I dropped my subscription a few years later. I moved and reupped a couple of years ago, and the blackout policy has evolved into this mess. Someone got their fingers into this and really screwed it up. It's not like I can jump in the car and make it to a game, within 4 hours from my location. I can get in the car and drive to Ottawa, in about 2 hours, but not anywhere in the U.S.A. from here, to see an NHL game.

Yea, I remember in 2000 or so they actually understood that being in Western CT, close to NY, there is a serious split on what team a person is a fan of. So they gave up both Boston are and NY area teams. Oh yea and we also got the Whalers too.

Fast forward to the mid 2000's and someone suddenly decided that my area should be Boston only, even tho I am closer to NYC. But some suit, with no clue about reality, drew the lines. Except that, as things usually go, they FAILED to consider all the scenarious, thus many of us are now left with holes in the games we can and can't see.

All I am asking for is that those holes be FILLED. If I am blacked on the regional network, then give me access on the national network and vice versa.

I know some insiders have said Directv AND the cable companies have been complaining about these holes, yet they continue to exist. It's just ignorance on the NHL's part. This is part of the reason I refuse to spend money on going to hockey games anymore. I used to goto at LEAST 10 or so Rangers games a year. I haven't been to one in probably 4 years now.

And the NHL wonders why their popularity continues to sink.
