604/604-1 is active on directv even though it's on the primary feed
both feeds are on
According to the guide, it was scheduled prior to tonight to be on both channels. Which is good. If they were going to activate 604 only if the earlier game went past 10:30, it would take a thinking human to turn 604 on when there was a conflict. We've seen this doesn't always happen.
That is not unusual.
So should this serve as confirmation that for playoff games on NBCSN, even out of market, you don't need to worry about missing the start of the late game because the late game will be on the alternate?
It's Monday (And days like Monday) that concerns me with BOS/WSH at 7:30pm et and STL/SJ at 10:00pm et. We all know most NHL games go more than 2.5 hours, even though they always get allotted as such. Even without overtime, the main NBCSN is not likely to have the start of STL/SJ that day. If the game is on the alternate, even out of market, that would be a huge relief.
I think it's pretty clear that NBC's intention is to make sure that overlaps are taken care of. Kudos to NBC and CNBC last night for a job well done.
It's just a shame all the wrong teams won!
the nhl tweeted out last night that if the pens flyers game went past the start time of the canucks/kings, the vancouver game would air on the nhl network in the us.
So i guess two options were ready to go but neither was needed
btw-this was sent out after the game by the la kings official twitter account
To everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome.
Are there no Canucks fans outside of British Columbia?
A pretty classless move on the part of LA.
I thought it was funny. Team's twitter accounts are usually extremely boring, let them have a little fun. Seems to be a huge overreaction from this.
LA have apologized and rightly so.
Overreactions are why team twitters and every player interview ever done are boring (since Bobby Holik anyway).
+1 to the LA Kings tweet. The league needs to see more stuff like that. It'll heat up or create some rivalries and make the game more interesting which is a plus for the league!
Yes, the tweet caused harm to the republic.
It's not like one of the infamous misdeeds of Sean Avery or Ozzie Guillen. As long as it's in good fun, I don't have a problem with it. College sports (especially football) are like this all the time. I wouldn't have a problem with Oregon's athletic department tweeting something like this after we beat USC if USC was on a roll.
On another note, we're going to find out once and for all what happens with the NBCSN overlap tonight, as there's only a 2:30 break between start times of the doubleheader.
Alternate channel is set up for use, 604 (-1 HD)
Which feed is being used for Rangers/ Sens on NHL Network. Just curious as I am watching in MSG in NY.
MSG feed. (with NHL Net graphics)
I am in NY as well and happy I don't have to watch the game on NHL network with the giant ticker, scoreboard, NHL live bug, etc... look at all this crap:
