I get the same numbers here in CT on a 5LNB. Mostly in the 90s, few 100s.
I don't get the one's on 119. I get all the other one's.
You're sure you have a 5lnb? What are your signal strengths on 119?
On the setup screen it says I have a slimline 5. I assume that is a 5lnb? But I only get satellite 101 when I check the strengths. As I said in an earlier post I have a R16 DVR so does that make a difference?
Well, we don't have much of a problem with rain fade, but all those earthquakes and mudslides really play havoc with signal strengths.
I do not get those few music channels either and I have the Premier package. I have the 5lnb also which was installed 2 years ago. My signal strenghts are in the 90's. I go to those select few music channnels and they say "channel not purchased".
The only one in that list that I care about though is the Holiday Music channel. Guess I will give them a call sometime this weekend and see what is up.
Wow, this is getting kinda weird.
Ok, who DOES get these channels, in particular ch815, where are you, what package do you have, and what dish do you have?
Remember, according to the CSR I spoke with, DIRECTV has no control over who gets that channel, so don't bother calling them about it. !rolling
Don't forget the csr who told me I had to downgrade from Premier to get "The Holiday Music channel"!
I cant get it either.. not good. Ive got a 3lnb and choice ultimate.. gotta make a call I guess
I suppose if enough people call about the Holiday Channel perhaps DirecTV would do something about providing it to ALL subscribers.
No rush, though. I won't be listening to that stuff until after Thanksgiving anyway.
And that's why.
I get a service not authorized message. I have no idea what package does or doesn't qualify, but I have TC+, HD Extra Pack.
Choice Ultimate & Choice Premier have the additional channels; including ch815.
When I had TC+ I could get the music channels in the Choice Extra package.
Am I understanding correctly, then, that because I have Choice Xtra +HD DVR, that we won't be getting any Holiday music?? You need either Choice Ultimate or Premier? How stupid, not to mention the wife is going to be upset. She would listen to that channel a lot when she was doing things around the house or scrapbooking or when we would put up decorations.
I don't understand this business decision at all. Do they think this will get people to upgrade their package or something? I know some people didn't like it but things were much better with XM.
That is correct. There was a rumor (started by a generally reliable source) that it would change before the holiday season and be opened up to all. We'll see....
Correct.... well I wasn't a DirecTV subscriber, but have XM Radio in the car and it had three channels for holiday music, although I usually only used the popular one.
I am not going to get bummed.... I had 1 holiday channel with cable, I get 1 holiday channel now. And probably still three in the car.
and now directv is coming out on sunday..
And 815 is not even listed on my DVR boxes.. (in addition to a number of other music channels).. should be interesting how they fix that.
I actually "had" this problem as well. It's because, as you point out, it's on a satellite you don't have access to with a SWM3. I complained, and they came out and installed a SWM5 free of charge.
Not for holiday music though - i was missing like 24 music channels and i work from home a lot and felt i should get what i pay for.
yeah its because those channels are on a satellite you can't access without a 5lnb dish. I noticed this about a month ago for the "rat pack" channel, and noticed i was missing about 19 music channels. I called in - they didn't understand at first, but i finally got to a tech agent that realized the problem was that i had a 3lnb dish instead of a 5 lnb. She said she didn't know why the contractors insist on installing the 3lnb dishes as standard - that they should only be used for customers that have the appropriate packaging level so that they don't notice they are missing channels (cuz they don't get them in the first place) and not for premier tier customers like myself.
In any case - they sent someont out to put a 5 lnb dish back up. problem solved.
