I recently dropped Directv for Dish.

Is it possible to take my new Hopper 3 to the RV?
Which portable antenna is recommended for the H3, if any?
I am looking at the 1000.2 vs portable.
Will the H3 be able to operate all 16 tuners with the 1000.2?
Am I correct in running one RG-6 from the 1000.2 to the H3 or is there something else in the circuit that I may need, only one TV to be used.
Thanks to all replies, new to Dish, but happy to be off the DTV !!

IIRC, the automatic dome antennas only see one, maybe 2 sats at a time. If you want full H3 functionality, you need to set up a real dish with either EA or WA lnb, preferably both available, depending on how far and wide are your travels.

use tripod with normal dish 500 or d1000
you will need to get smartphone app like dish pointer to find sats LOS

There are no portable dome style dishes that work with any of the Hopper series receivers. Only the open face multi-LNB dishes like the 1000.2 or .4 on a portable tripod or other portable mount are suited to mobile RV use or a roof mounted automatic aiming open face dish can be used instead.
