How agressive will this be?

I've kept hearing February and March as release dates for this. Is that realistic? Hardware-wise it might be a no brainer but isn't that timeframe agressive for the code part? Just wondering everyone's thoughts on this.

We're testing the setup and usage of the add-on USB OTA device, and if we testers find no problems, I'm thinking March is realistic for general release. (That's a big IF, but how hard can it be? ;))

When I first heard about the planned release date of the HR21-700, I thought it was insane because of where it was at software-wise. But the programmers got down to business and were able to get the HR21 out with some pretty good software. I don't see why the AM21 will be any different.

Based on what I anticipate to be a short time frame for our field testing, I think we should be quite aggressive with putting together the first look for this device. In light of that, I volunteer to begin building that document as soon as possible. As has been the case in previous field tests, I am sure it will be a collaborative effort of everyone here. :)

I think release will depend on the results. How long does a new reciever take to be tested? As long as the software works well maybe then a March realease is possible. When we test something here at work it could take 4 weeks to whenever if it's not right. (we run test software for programming cars) Well here's to hoping it will be right soon so the people can have thier OTA.

While I am certainly anxious to participate in the "First Look", I think I'll have to wait until I actually get that first look;)

Oh come on, let's make it up as we go along.

I'll cover the OTA-DLB module included with the AM21

    Teays...
OTOH, I have had a SWM for a pretty long time and they are still not publically released. And it has work flawlessly since I got it.

Looks like we have a release date for the AM21, so we've got some work to do! ;)

Reminder - we can't publicly respond about the date! :p

Sadly, no. But I'm not going to complain - I've already gotten an HR21 free and now an AM21. I paid $199 for my HR20.

I wouldn't really need the SWM if not for the fact that I have four and only four cables coming down from my dish and OTA antenna. When I got the HR20 I needed all four feeds for that since I needed a multiswitch in the house. With the SWM I can run one SWM feed for the HR20/21, two for the HR10 and one for OTA.
