I have an intermittent "0" button. How do I open up the genie rc72 remote controller to clean the PC board contacts? I see only one screw in the battery compartment. Are there any others and where ? Tks

It is not worth it to try and fix it.

A 5 pound sledge used just right should do nicely.

Even better, asked just right and DIRECTV will send you one at no charge, including shipping.

you will need a thin plastic "spatula" (Fry's have it), usually selling as repair kit for cellphones
gently insert between halves (better use two of them) and increase gap by un-snapping small latches, those spots could be recognized by looking under bright light

Yes but are there any additional screws (for example hidden under the black fascia ) besides the one in the battery compartment . Anyone tried to open the Genie remote controller?

as I encounter during opening many different remotes, usually hidden screws locating under labels, sticky plastic covers... if you, gently pressing, will touch all surface you will feel some hole(s)

If you have the protection plan just call in and say you have a flashing red light on it when you press buttons and you'll get another.
