hr-20-700

    I have a hr20-700 it is starting to show its age,i would like to pick up a hr-24 from solid signal.Would i have to send the 700 back to directv?THANKS!

    You should call DIRECTV and ask them if the receiver is owned or leased. If leased yep it needs to go back to them.

    You can keep the HR20-70 for as long as you're willing to pay $6 per month for it.

    On thing you might want to check is to logon to your account at DIRECTV and under the equipment section see what they would charge you to get a HD DVR. Normally it's $199 but depending on your history they might say it's $99. If you do see a $99 offer when you call to check on the HR20's status tell them you want a HR24 but you know they can't guarentee that you'd get one so would they credit your account $100 so you can buy one at Solid Signal, that has worked for some folks in the past.
