So I've got an HR 54 and about every 2 weeks on the dot, when I turn on my tv and HR 54 I get a message on my tv saying "no signal from HDMI 2". The only thing that has ever fixed it has been to power cycle the HR 54. I noticed last time it took a good 6-7 minutes to fully reboot, usually doesn't take that long. So my question is, is there something wrong with the HR 54 or do I have some sort of a short in my HDMI cable, or something else?

Next time it does it, unplug one end of the HDMI cable and plug it back in. If that does not work, try the other end.
If neither work, try a different HDMI cable if you have it.

Ok so you think it’s an HDMI cable issue and not the dvr? I will give it a try.

You can also try using the TV remote and turning on the TV before the receiver to see if it is a timing problem.

Is the HDMI connected directly to the TV from the receiver ?

That's the first place to look, for sure. I have had a couple HDMI cables go bad for some reason. Better hope it's not the HDMI port on the set.

HDCP issue most likely. Try component cables.

You can also try switching inputs on the TV to a different input and then back again. You likely just need to have the HDMI handshake take place again.
