been going on for a few months now, but every time my HR20-100 is tuned into TBS, it sill crash. Typically the image just freezes, or the unit will completely stop responding, and i have to reset it.

Only happens when on TBS!! seriously.... it will go weeks without incident, then when it tunes to TBS for any reason, it will crash. Happened today while i was out. When i came home it wouldnt come on, so i reset it, and knew that it must have been TBS< and sure enough, it was attempting to record "wrecked".

All my guide data completely disappears too... weird

Try doing a search for CLEARMYBOX and let it run. It is possible you have some corrupt data associated with that channel. This will remove all of the guide and data and graphics and then rebuild it all. It does not remove recording, series settings, etc.

My goodness, why do you still have a 20-100? Time to trade that in for a 24?

I had my HR20 sitting on top of some other equipment back in the day when I still had the HR20 and it actually burned the LCD display on the equipment below . I have an HR24 now, but I have a 80mm PC fan stood up behind the DVR to keep it cool anyways.

I have nothing but good things to say about the 20-700s, I thought the TS said he had three 20-100s. I can say nothing good about them.

    Sakatomatoes...
I have an HR20-100 still in service continually since I got it as a replacement for a Tivo HR10-250(?). Everything else has been replaced at least once, some twice.

I have no idea how many 20-100s I've had in my house. Many. None worked, not one. I don't remember even getting one activated.

You'd think one would have worked. Didn't. They came daily and came in pieces at times. Parts falling off (how can you believe in refurbishing when an HR appears with the front panel unattached? That happened more than once), DOA, some just wouldn't activate...

We've had a HR20-700 since they were the latest and greatest. Either the fan or the HDD has been grinding for years now, but the box keeps soldiering on. The HR21-700 on the other hand... died after a couple years of use and was replaced with a 21-100. They never asked for the dead one back... probably because they realized how awful the '21s are. ;) (Really, I know they just want rid of all 2x except 24s.)

Those Series 2 HRs (21-xxx, 22-xxx, 23-700)...well, we could have done without them. I think we'd have been better served with the 20-700s remaining as the only HRs until the 24s came along.

    Hi Stranger!

Ain't that the truth! Finally had an H21 fail after many years in the bedroom. The HR20-700 was the best of the bunch.
