Saw the same thing. Started watching it with about 10% complete, but the audio and video dropouts made it unwatchable. I stopped the download and deleted what remained. This process seemed to take a long time however. I almost thought I needed to do a RBR, but it finally exited the menu.

Was downloading All the Kings Men, it was going very slowly, was unwatchable after downloading 10% or so, pixelation and audio dropouts. Then, disappeared from the queue. It is now downloading the next video.

Also, at first I had Starz on demand and now it lists no channels available. Seems to have lots of bugs right now but that is expected. Main two things will be improved download speeds and content (HD, movies, etc.). I don't really care about Courtv on demand and things like that.

Good start but will need improvement.

    Channel 1000

    - Select any category & sub-category (e.g. Movies/All)
    - Scroll or page down to the very bottom so that highlight bar is on the very last items (e.g. "Zoom - Widescreen Format")

There is a small remnant of the highlight bar on the first item on the list. On the last item, it has a clear space (same size as the remnant) and then the rest of the highlight.

    Channel 1000

    - Select any category/sub-category (e.g. Movies/All)
    - Scroll down through the list a bit
    - Left arrow to go back to left nav/menu
    - Select same category/sub

Guide window will repopulate alphabetically but the highlight bar seems to remain where it was before you left-arrowed off the screen. It seems like it (the highlight/selection bar) should go back to the top when the list repopulates.

I disconnected my router while downloading a movie, and reconnect few minutes after. Download process resumed correctly, but there is an one second black screen at the point where I disconnected the process. I will retry the exercise to confirm.

    1. Downloaded Scooby Doo on VOD. Started watching it while it was downloading. It had downloaded about 13%. Went back into guide to select another one for queue and decided not to. Started pressing left arrow to back out of channel 1000. When I got back to Scooby, all keys no longer worked. Couldn't stop the playback, couldn't exit, couldn't get to guide or menu, etc. Had to RBR.

    2. Downloaded Janes Addiction+. Waited until all 100% was downloaded and started to watch. Lots of video and audio dropouts, black screen and had to FF to get past it. Others have report this as well so it may be a bad source file???

    3. Seeing the tearing in the guide when you are in Channel 1000 scrolling through a list and when you press page down at the last page you will consistently get tearing.

    That's it for now.

Alright, retried the process again. I had another black screen, but while recording I read the posts of this thread, so now I am no more sure if it is because of my line disconnecting or is it the same issue as for everyone else..

A couple of notes on things that I'm seeing so far:

-PgDn-ing through any list, when it gets to the last page, the last push splits the cursor into three parts, two stay in the prior position and one goes to the bottom.

-Doesn't seem to be any way to tell if a VOD is available to you or if it's on a channel you don't subscribe to.

-Speed is about 2x live on my 3Mbps connection for SD. In other words, takes 15 minutes to fully download a 30 minute movie.

    General Channel 1000:

    Cursor positioning.

Select a Category with enough elements to allow scrolling.
    Scroll twice.
Hit left to move the focus to the list of categories.
Select another category, the cursor will be 2 page down in the list of the elements of the selected category.

Should we have access to the content of the channels that we did not purchased?

I can download programs of CNNE.

If you go to channel 1000 select all there should be a better way to jump to the middle of the list. Instead of scrolling all of the pages

when using the slip buttons, fwd or reverse, the picture will freeze and the audio will play until it catches up to the picture and then it will start playing agian. Fast fwd and rewind work fine.

Okay, just starting to play with this thing. Downloaded a 15 minute Eric Clapton video (SD). Took 44 minutes. I'm downloading a 35 minute HD video, "Desert City," and it took about 24 minutes to download 5 percent. So it should take about 4 hours total. These times seem much slower than others I've seen posted. My DSL is supposed to be 1.5 mbps but I'm wondering if mywireless network is slowing it down even further. Whenever I click on my network icon on my laptop it typically says the speed is 54 mbps. But I downloaded the Hagel DU Meter and it gave me speeds of 40 to 70 kbps when I was downloading the Cutting Edge video (by the way, tres cool that!). I really don't know much about networking and such, but I'm wondering if I ought to try to connect my HR20 with a cable rather than wireless. Any thoughts from those of you (most of you!) who know more about this sort of thing than I do?

By the way, even though it took really long to download the Clapton video, it looked and sounded pretty good. There was one relatively minor breakup of both video and sound about 6 minutes into it, but otherwise was quite smooth. And the couple of minutes of the HD video I was able to watch looked very good.

Not all channels have loaded 6 hours after confirming access (including 1000 and 1003)

Tear appears as reported by others

Queued up 6 items, reordered using the arrow on the side. Exited queue and started watching Dog Whisperer:Nugget.

Checked playlist during that playback and moved 2 items up using the arrows on the right side. One of the 2 items I moved up in the Queue (Weird Al: White & Nerdy) is no longer in the Queue.

    Other observations:
    Dog Whisperer: Nugget
brief video skip @ <1 min
delete / don't delete pop up appears before end of program

    Weird Al: I'll sue ya
delete / don't delete pop up appears before end of program

Not a DirecTV problem, but an obseration that impacts VOD. Using a 1.5Mb DSL connection, a standard def VOD download plays faster than it downloads, which basically means that you can't start watching it until it is nearly done downloading, or you will get forced pauses with a "please wait while your program download" message.

I selected a 15 minute Eric Clapton video clip. I started playing it when it was 40% downloaded, and ran out of buffer twice trying to watch it. So for those with relatively slow download speeds, plan on letting the entire show download before trying to watch it.

    Select channel 1000
Scroll to "More Channels" and select
Select sub category channel (like TCM)
"Back" should take you back to previous menu with "More Channels" highlighted
Instead it takes you back to "All" highlighted
