Watching Pioneers of Television, recorded 2/7 on KOCE-DT (OTA).

When paused, the screen saver comes on as it should, but does not animate. It just jumps from point to point.

Audio drops, approximately one per minute for less than one second each incident. Does not seem to be an easy fix.

Couldn't agree more. A lot of people, even when you tell them they are testing, expect the feature they use to be rock solid. The DoD public beta comes to mind.

Those of us who have been true testers before, have much greater knowledge of the process that new software and add-ons must go thru before its ready for prime time.

As I've said before, I'm honored to be part of this group and hope our information and testing helps make this a smooth roll-out in the end.

This is probably more of a wish list type item but I'll mention it here anyway. This weekend when we got the notice that a forced download was happening I went up to check my HR20, which I normally keep in standby when not being viewed. When I went to power up the TV and HR20 I had a blank screen and the box wasn't responding to the power button on the panel or remote and no other LED's were on. My 1st reaction would normally be to give it the RBR or power cycle but I decided to wait awhile, good thing. It looks like the box was in the part of the upgrade process where it's actually writing to code to NVRAM since when it did wake up I got the software installed complete rebooting screen.

Maybe DirecTV might want to think about forcing the box out of standby as part of the software upgrade process so if someone does try to use the box during the process they dont' end up bricking it by doing a RBR in the process. Just a thought.

Let's keep this thread to issues only, please. Same rules as the more public forums.

Yea, but I couldn't very wall post in the public forum the background (forced HR20 upgrade since none's going on at the moment). If you feel that it belongs somewhere else please feel free to move it. Thanks

As of right now, I have not gotten an update if there is going to be a new push tonight or not.

If it helps, used my PS/3 today and notices that it sees the HR20 and is generating error "Media Server Error: A DLNA Procol error (4405) has occured". Just though I'd mention it in case it helps track down the problem.
