I have noticed that none of my HR20-700's resolution lights are lit. Everything seems to be working properly though. Native set to off and I have the latest software update. Is this normal? Is it due to some setting? I have it set to 1080i and 1080p.

Your 1080i light might have burned out. My 720p light has been dead for several years.

This would be expected with setup he says he has.
    Edited to add:
If the 1080i light is burnt out.

If you change the resolution to 720p or 480p do those lights work?

If you do a menu restart (which won't affect any of your settings/recordings) it will cycle through all the resolution lights. You will see right away which work and which don't.

Thanks, for the suggestions. I will try them today and let you know the outcome.

If native is off, you have the output either set to 1080i or 1080p, not both. You may have those two enabled in the rotation and the others disabled, but with native off it stays in one of the outputs only, typically to match your displays capabilities.

Possibly you are set to 1080p, which is OK, but IIRC, some DVRs have no rez lights lit when in 1080p 'cuz they were built before 1080p was available on DTV and there is no front-panel light for 1080p.The HR20 is a 2007 design, so while capable of 1080p due to newer software up revs, probably has no capability to display 1080p via a front-panel light.

actualy the HR20s (and the rest) light both the 1080i and 720p lights for 1080p..
I would expect with his settings it will output 1080i all the time and that's the light that's dead..

And the winner is....1080i led burned out. Went through the reset process last night and it was obvious the led is gone as the others all lit up in sequence. Thanks to everyone for their input.
