If I get them to replace with a Geneie Mini do you think it will renew my contract?

Any reasons I should not go this route?

If it is dead, call and tell them. They will likely send an HR24 to replace it. At most, $20 shipping and handling.

If you ask for a mini, that will be an upgrade and cost you a 2-year contract.

Same monthly fees as the 20 (or 24).

If you ask for better equipment there will be an extension. If AT&T|DIRECTV decides to give you better equipment (for example, identical equipment not available) there would be no extension.
