Will the DOD only work with HR20-700's? What about the 100's? I thought they were basically the same.

Also, how can you tell if you get DOD? Is this on a certain channel?

No need to provide a link when people have posted that it what it is for. Same as when they went and changed the HD access package before the new channels came out...

Sounds to me they are adding for those customers who choose to add DOD to their services.

The HR20 new service line item is what adds the appropriate authorizations on the account to enable DIRECTV on Demand and maybe others.

Dod will work on the HR20-100 after the updated software is released. the quick menu will say On Demand when available.

I can't have VOD or DOD. I don't have broadband or a proper PC to handle that type of activity :nono2: I hope the HR20 New Service isn't for that

Obviously if it stays $0 no. What I worry about is when my bill comes will it still be $0?

So what is the next step after this shows up on one's bill? Do I just wait, and at some point the new software will be downloaded and the option show up on my menu?

You can either wait, or if you're interested in testing, you can download the CE release tonight. More information on that here: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=90847
