I was holding out for hdtvfan0001 to start this thread...but he hasn't yet, so I am. I anticipate the big jump to warp/light speed here where the gaps between the HR20 and HR21 will be filled and we get the mega CE, with all the features that our bretheren have. It will be amazing, it will be fantastic, but it won't happen until Wednesday before the Super Bowl. (I am guessing that the -100 will also fill the gap and both will get this huge CE and they will both be pushed from the nest and media blitzed then) :D

Perhaps, but he never seems to get into the discussion of anticipation (occupational hazard, so to speak, probably). I don't know though, he may be ready to pull the plug on smiddy entirely...:D

Sometimes Earl gets his update info late in the CE test cycle, so that we only find out same day or next day.

    That's beyond his control.

But clearly, he was thrilled at this thread...

So, are you saying he sees us see it from another source of pushed or whatever and he gets his information from here then checks his sources?

No. I'm saying his contacts make him aware of CE's coming out, and that then triggers his notifications to us. The other part is that the lead time from the notice time he gets until the actual CE download window notice is occasionally short.

    OK, thanks.

I still anticipate it coming the Wednesday before the Super Bowl. ;)

You know you would be bored out of your mind if you didn't have us to divert your attention from the monotony of watching DIRECTV. :D :D

If you guys have noticed, the HR20-700 and the HR20-100 are almost 100% on par now. The HR20-100 does not have quite as many CEs, but very recently it is almost in lock-step with the HR20-700. Additionally, the HR21-700 is very close on the heels of both the HR20s .. We're making progress.

Let's keep in mind that the HR20-200 (and now the HR20-100) are not yet released to the public (sans a rogue box that made it's way into the distribution stream). There is really no reason to push the boxes that we have until it becomes necessary.

Earl warned us to get ready for the release, but my gut feeling at this point is that the HR21-200 release will coincide with the release of the AM21 .. That is as long as HR21-700 inventory can keep up with demand .. so we're looking at a little over a month (Earl can shoot me down if he knows better and is allowed to share :)).

I also suspect that the HR21-200 will catch up to the HR21-700 .. and possibly even the HR20s by that point so all will be good. In all honesty, even though there are some exciting things coming I really get the feeling that DIRECTV can sit back and take in a sigh of relief. The last 18-24 months have been very hectic with lots of questions (at least on the consumer side) as to whether or not it was the right path .. now .. let's bring on even more cool features .. especially to the HR21-200

    Not to worry...we noticed. :D
Based on communications I got, I have been led to believe that the -200 will be released sooner than the the AM21. :eek2: ;)
    That's what we're all anticipatin' :)

Well, when I called the CSR at Directv, they told me that Earl had not decided what to do yet!

    (Look Stuart, Multiquoted :) )

Is it that noticeable? Maybe I should change colors?

Yep, this all seems doable to me. It is interesting how we folks without any knowledge speculate none the less. It is even fun, actually. :)

We're a group of observant folks hoping for the best, so yeah! :D

However it goes down, I want to be able to be there when it does...most of my stress levels are based on not knowing what the heck is happening within this group and potential fun of toying with new stuff (both hardware and firmware [CEs]). Work is less stressful, family life is less stressful, but this stuff, man I'm on th eedge of my seat waiting for Earl's next post...Doug's site to show another CE...and last but not least another HD channel, yummmmmmm-eeeeee! :hurah:

Well, considering I'm only speculating and have never actually asked anyone (including Earl) .. you may know more than I :)
