You all know the drill
Thanks for starting this thread Earl!
I just wanted to point out that I mentioned some issues with audio stutter on my HR21-100 in the Issues thread for 0202, and that was on purpose. Those issues were prior to tonight's push. I will keep an eye on it (ear?) and see if there are any audio problems on 93F2.
Most likely not an issue with 0x93f2 but i'll post it anyway..............
after the download completed, my -100 had no sound out of optical to my JVC receiver. Powered off the JVC and back on with no luck, then powered off (standby) the -100 and back on which brought it back. Other than this minor hiccup, all else went well.
Some of you may know that i already have my AM21 and i can report that setup went down without a hitch. If you are familiar with the "Antenna Setup" in our older brother, the HR20-700, it's all the same and quite easy. Different users with the HR21-700 who are in the trials, have reported that their signal strength only pegs out at 77% max but i am seeing several channels that i know are medium to strong in my market, peg out at 95-100%. I have no channels that are below 85%.
i had the same issue again with the record light blinking with a blank screen after the forced CE. this also happened in my post for the 0x202 issues thread:
I brought the unit out of standby twice tonight and had a very small issue each time...
-Progress bar appeared for ~10 seconds
-The LED light ring did a couple of rotations.. and instead of becoming solid... only the top LED of the light ring was lit.. a channel change corrected this..
I loose audio after using transport buttons.
Ok, it's almost 10:00 CST, where are the other 8 slackers? Why have only 4 of us voted? I mean c'mon, I voted over 12 hours ago!!
And in case anyone has any thoughts of a smart comment, I voted over 12 hours ago because I am efficient, NOT because I don't have a life! :sure:
I'm holding out high anticipation for an arrival today. As I recall the HR21's arrived next day, I'm hoping for the same here. I'll have to peruse the -700 threads for clues to how long it took them to get theirs.
As reported by Microbeta in the HR21-100 CE 0x0202 thread, this is also happening on -100 with 0x93f2. Native "off"
Observed while watching New Amsterdam, local Fox MPEG4...
When using FW, I hit play, and it jumps back like it's supposed to but the picture is frozen at the point where I hit play.
When I say jumps back I mean the audio jumps back but the video froze
Usually it froze for only a second or two then it jumps back to meet the audio.
Then what usually happens is the audio cuts out for a few seconds.
Observed while watching Smash Lab, ch278, DSCHD MPEG4...
Everything works correctly. No video freezes, no audio drop outs...
I had a very bad lip sync issue while watching TBS HD this afternoon. I don't think I've ever had an issue on this station, and I watch it often. I tried getting it to line up by pausing it a couple times, using 6 second replay, and rewinding back into the buffer some. Only thing that seemed to work was changing channels and coming back, which took care of most of it.
I also experienced the 'Channel Banner Lag' this afternoon. On a direct tune, the channel banner would still show the information from the previous channel. Using channel up/down didn't seem to be as bad.
A channel change requiring a resolution change seems to be a bit slower than previous releases. On a few changes, I wouldn't even get to see the channel banner of the new channel, because the 4 seconds that I have it set to display had already expired. This rarely happened on previous releases.
edit: Native on ... all resolutions selected
Experiencing this one too with native "On". Also, resolution indicator light may change 2-3 times before the correct res is displayed but has only appeared a few times.
On reboot after I put the AM21 in, the first screen asked about OTA setup (if I wanted to do it or I wanted to postpone). My HR21 did not respond to the remote on that screen. I had to hit the select button on the front of the unit. The remote worked on subsequent screens. (My HR21 is set to AV2 but using either AV1 or AV2 did not matter on the first screen.)
On the tuner itself. I am getting a few percentage points better (from 2 to 7) on all channels that are not at 100% than on my HR20-700, which is on the same antenna. On one of the 100% channels, the AM21 is holding rock solid while the HR20 will drop to 98 or 99 every once in a while. I set up a few season lists on OTA channels on the AM21/HR21 to see if I get solid signals (as I get a lot of multi-path when the wind blows).
Scrolling through the guide and menus is painfully slow at times. Going into the guide and pressing "info" on a channel number to bring up program listing for that channel is especially slow. The list populates quickly but it can take 3-4 seconds for scrolling through the list when hitting page down or up.
When I got to Step 2 of 2 it got to 90% and stopped for about 1.5-2 minutes then it jumped to something that I think said "Rebuilding Scheduler....". I didn't catch the rest.
It is up and running and I'm now playing....
after connecting the AM21 i had the same issue upon boot up with the blinking recording and none boot.
once i did get everything to bootup i was watching live tv (ota) i went to change the channel and didn't have any remote/ front pannel responce. performed a rbr and once after rebooting i didn't have any aduio comeing from any channels. i turned it off then back on again and all is well for the moment.
Watching NGC this afternoon when video froze but still had audio. Tried changing channels but all channels including OTA were frozen. Had to reboot to correct it.
Last nights New Amsterdam had the same issues...only worse.
See this post for issues.
Ok, need a little help.
I'm not sure how to interpret the OTA signal strength.
First, depending on what OTA channel I am on it will display different strengths.
Second, OTA Tune #1 always shows strength at 0.
OTA Tuner #2 always has strength >0. It seems to range between 56 to 100 depending on channel.
I can't retest the signal strength (family doesn't want me to right now) so I will get a better picture of how strength is varying with channel (if at all).
