I mentioned this earlier and then never did it. Let's list our reboots and the reasons for them. Same drill as the HR20. I left out the model and code because here it's pretty obvious.

Mods, would it be easier to sticky this thread?

    1. Method:

    2. Date/Time:

    3. HR21 is Networked:

    4. Reseason for Reset/Reboot:

I've had to reboot a bunch . . . I've been listing them in the issues thread but it may be easier for me to list the new ones, starting today. :p

    1. Method: RBR

    2. Date/Time: 8/4/07 ~9:00 a.m.

    3. HR21 is Networked: Yes

    4. Reseason for Reset/Reboot: Entered incorrect/nonexistent channel no. while watching MPEG4 local. Lost audio. Went to Guide, selected correct channel number and the box locked up with no video (TV displayed no signal error). Front panel lights were still on but totally nonresponsive.

Right after setting up the HR21 I had to do several restarts, all via RBR because the HR21 was unresponsive.

    1. Method: RBR

    2. Date/Time: 08/02/2007 Thu

    3. HR21 is Networked: Yes

    4. Reason for Reset/Reboot: Receiver became stuck during INFO & TEST multiple times.

Well heck, if we're gonna go into the past :p

    1. Method: RBR and soft reset

    2. Date/Time: 8/2 - multiple times

    3. HR21 is Networked: Yes

    4. Reseason for Reset/Reboot: Ran clear and delete to re setup the box, networking issues, screen lockups going into info and test.

I've had to reboot numeroius times. They are listed in the issues thread, too numerous to move here. Even had to reformat the HD. Once warmed up, my system locks up evre 20 seconds to 2 minutes. Will post new ones here.

Do we really need a reboot thread at this point? If we have to reboot, it's pretty much a guarantee that there was an issue that we need to report in the issues thread. This just seems incredibly redundant.

Possibly. I thought it would be easier for the engineers to parse these vs. going into the issues thread since some issues don't require a reboot.

    Edit: Just to add...

    1. Method: RBR

    2. Date/Time: 8/3 - 1130 CST

    3. HR21 is Networked: Yes

    4. Reseason for Reset/Reboot: Went into test menu and box went black. No audio, no pic, and no response to remote.

I suspect you are right, at least until we get a new CE version that perhaps address some of the issues reported by many of us.

Rebooted after video freezes during playback. Video was freezing and no trick play function would bring it back.

Rebooted via menu reset, then RBR, then plug-pull:

I have had the box lock up a couple of time during playback. I posted them on the issue thread.

Are we really duplicating the reboot reports? There are only 23 of us.

I think it's a good idea to keep reboots in another thread. The main issues thread has a lot of stuff in it. :)

Wel...after my testing...the only reboots I've seen so far were during the original setup and if I choose to do (already reported) network and other certain setup changes.

    Networked via wireless, works fine.

Avoiding known items, I have had no lockups or RBR's needed.

Tried to play an entire folder (Little Einsteins), no picture and no video. I tried playing one show at a time and they were black as well. Had to RBR to get them back.

Had to reboot when no recordings would play. Only got black screen, no audio. MAYBE an interesting note, the shows were labeled as PAUSED in the PiP when I returned to the playlist.
