Seems DIRECTV is trying to solve the "won't update to 0x16D" problem by release 0x18B .. Heck, it might even be 0x16D just recompiled as 0x18B - I don't know this to be fact, though.

I wonder if it's a push or we're supposed to pull.

btw Doug, your setup works great. I always get the notifications really quick. Thanks!

Maybe someday when I can afford to get a bigger multiswitch I'll get one of the Twinhan cards and lend a hand. :)

Interesting. I guess we wait to see what Earl has to say before trying anything.

I always have to double check whenever I think I see something for the -700 back here. Wonder what's up with this?

I meant, I wonder what's up with this version? Hope it hides sd duplicates and lets the left arrow give the back command.

I would expect it to be feature equivalent to HR20 version 0x18a. If I had to guess, I would say that DIRECTV wanted the HR21 to debut with version 0x18a, in fact it seems that's what they are flashed with at the factory, but there was an obstacle to that, and they had to fall back to the 0x168 code base.

I'd also suspect that the same issue applied to HR21-200 as we were "downgraded" too.

I didn't get 16E so I figured I had nothing to lose. It is downloading now. I'll report back.

The forced download worked. At first glance, I can't see any difference (no DOD, no back on left arrow, etc.) No hiding of SD either.

Since that's all that's spooling, I wonder if any of the -700 users could get this? It may be the current release to get everyone on the same page.

There were a lot of folks today that were on 0x18A rather than the NR of 0x16D. I think (but haven't been told) that 0x18B was put in to get folks off of 0x18A .. remember, there was a big push to get you guys away from 0x18A a few weeks back ..

    I recall 18a

Anyway, 18b downloaded last night and again stayed in standby. I did not wake to the blue ring.

All HR20-700 discussion should be in the public forum....

Unless it is something specific to the field testers
