KUSA-HD local 10:00 HD news had irritating audio and video dropouts that prompted my wife and daughter to ask me to change to the SD channel. Signal strength is 77 (100%?). Changed to DN9 and did not have the issues.

Did not have the dropout issues near as bad before this update.

Absolutely, if I was running a normal setup with two sat tuners. I only have one sat tuner connected, though. The DVR should be smart enough to figure out the situation and still allow the OTA program to be recorded. I have no problem manually recording both a satellite and an OTA program at the same time, so scheduled recordings should work too.
I got the exact same error last week, with this exact same situation. It's something consistent with this mix of recordings, not a transient issue.

Turned on the TV last night and the screen-saver was on over live TV on OTA channel 21-2. The HR21 was not in standby, was idle (no remote input from me) for approximately 20 hours, and the live buffer was not paused. The first press of a key (INFO) cleared the screen-saver, but then it took another five presses before the INFO panel first appeared.

    ISSUE: Pixelation on OTA.

I switched my LOST SL to OTA from MP4 Locals this week and I'm seeing a lot of pixelation. Not bad, but it's still there.

The reason I believe it's the HR21/AM21 is because I have it recorded on an HR20-700, for backup sake, and it's not pixelating at all. The same antenna feeds both.

ISSUE: 30 Sec Skip getting worse.

Watching LOST recorded from OTA tonight it's taking 30Skip 3 seconds to actually kick in after pressing the button on the remote. Add that to the 3 seconds it takes for the video to start playing after a skip and that's 6 or 7 seconds after pressing the button that the skip is finished. It also means you can't stack them very well either.

UPDATE: This isn't just happening on 30 Sec Skip, all trickplay. Pressing the button and the action you choose takes place 3 to 4 seconds later.

I just hit 30 Sec Skip and I counted up to 9 before I had video again.

I hit replay and it took me 5 seconds to go back 6.

Hitting FF 2 times gets me 1x FF. Hitting FF, waiting 3 seconds and hitting FF again gets me 2x FF. 3 seconds more and I can hit FF to get 3x.

Went to watch Nuggets @ Bulls tonight on channel 661 (Altitude Alternate)

Receiving it on every receiver except HR21

Menu reset did not help, neither did refreshing services

    RBR brought it back

Wanted to update the issues thread...

The issues I reported with Trickplay are ONLY with OTA recordings.

I watched an MP4 recording and had no problems.

I then started to watch another OTA recording. The second that I hit 30Skip it took 9 seconds for the skip to complete. Replay took 5 seconds to go back 6, etc.

I've been trying to get a handle on some OTA audio drop outs lately - it seems that OTA via the AM21 is experiencing more audio drops than OTA - even though the signal meter registers at 77% max, need to fix that too - it's like there's a signal overload that just amplifies any marginal defects being processed and this gets back to my observation that the audio is "louder" via the AM21 than the TV on direct channel comparisons. My TV is doing a much better job of handling the signal, even though the AM21 seems to have a stronger receiver (it can tune the 1 channel my TV can't)

OK, I played more with the OTA audio drop outs over night and they seem to be tied to setting "dolby on". One other thing, the drop outs are not limited to just one OTA channel.

I turned dolby off on the HR21 and the fairly regular drop outs ceased. The HR21 matched the TV's OTA audio performance. Turned dolby back on and while things seemed fine at first, after the first channel change they were back. Also, turning dolby off resulted in the audio levels using the HR21 to match the TV's - dolby on and audio levels using OTA via HR21 were higher.

I haven't used OTA on the HR20 much lately and won't be around to check until Sunday, but the brief tests I've done with the HR20 lately, including a quickie this morning, did not show the same symptoms.

I am also having the audio dropouts on the OTA channels. If I do the 6 second back button and the audio is fine. This is happening on all OTA channels.

Watching OTA channel 21-3 live had nasty, multiple audio drops that were caused by the DVR, not the station. The drops would occur on almost every other use of Trick Play, for example, if I hit INSTANT REPLAY, it would resume without audio and I'd have to hit IR about five more times to back up enough so that audio would play. Each time the audio dropped I was able to rewind or REPLAY back far enough to return with audio, so the station wasn't dropping the audio, the DVR was.

Audio is played through the TV connected to HR21 via HDMI.

I did not notice the audio drops on non-OTA channels.

I oops last night :D. I'm so used to the HR20 being in the living room that I reboot my HR21 think I would be doing the CE. I realized my mistake a second after I hit the "-". That is when the problems started. The HR21 didn't want to come back up. I had to RBR it about 5 times to get to come up. Then it got stuck on step 1 of 2. I did one more RBR and everything come up...

At lunch I was watching OTA and I was getting bad audio dropouts again. So, I tried changing the channel and the receiver froze up again for a little over a min before it would respond. After that it was still doing the audio dropouts on OTA channels. But, would stop if I hit the 6 second back button.

So far this evening I have also been getting audio dropouts on MPEG-2 SD channels. 6 second skip back corrects the issue.
