There's probably something a little off with the TVCT in the PSIP data, and DirecTV's receivers are less forgiving of it.

Had another a/v freeze on OTA 4-1 this morning. Was working fine and sometime after 6am while I was reading the paper, playback stopped with an image frozen on the screen. A channel change fixed things.

Last night I had another of those 30-60 second lockups - just waited and unit began to respond to the remote again. Don't recall the exact time.

Also last night, while watching Travel Channel (277 - Bizarre Foods), I started having severe audio drop outs/stuttering. A pause didn't help and if I changed the channel, things were fine on BBCA (264), but the stuttering returned when I flipped back to 277. I then changed channels twice to make sure I swap tuners when I returned to 277 and noticed the stuttering on the channel that appeared on the tuner on which I had been watching 277. After a few seconds of returning to 277, the stuttering began again. It did stop after a few minutes of my trying to re-tune channels.

Also, I noticed that I was also getting audio glitches when jumping into and out of the main menu areas with the embedded playback (PIG & PIL) just after the stuttering event mentioned above)

I had a lockup last night while flipping through the guide. I had scrolled thru about 3 or 4 pages, when it suddenly refused to accept any more inputs. I gave it about 5 minutes to clear itself, and when it didn't I did an RBR. All fine since.
I wish there was some consistency in guide response...sometimes it's very quick, most times it's variably slow to non-responsive at all.

Is there a chance that they can fix this issue or problem?

If by "they" you mean your local station, then maybe. Without some detailed analysis from someone who can actually receive the channel, I doubt DirecTV is willing to go stabbing in the dark trying to fix it.

I was meaning Directv. So, if I were to contact that station about this issue. What would I say? Is there certain termenology I should say?

When I came home from work this evening, the HR21-700 was on, but would not respond to any commands from the remote or front panel. It would not even power down. I pulled the plug and waited about 20 seconds and restored power. It would not power up from the front panel. I then did an RBR and restored functionality.

Does the subchannel audio come in properly on your H20?

No, I had the same problem when I had the HR20 hooked up to the antenna.

You should contact the station, and just tell them exactly what's happening. They might be able to find a screwy setting somewhere and just fix it without any hassle.

I would also try posting in your city's thread over on AVS, and see if anyone has the ability to dissect the ASTC stream and pick apart the PSIP data to see if there is anything that is obviousl malformed.

Tuner was on OTA PBS channel 21-3, "WLIW-Create", for over 24 hours. Saw sporadic but extreme pixelation in random portions of the screen.

Trick play issue this morning. On channel 2-1 tried to rw but it just sat there. 3 minutes later it began to rw. Once I got back to live TV had bad audio drop outs. Pause for about 30 sec. audio is fixed now.

Watching LOST last night which was recorded via OTA trickplay was not functioning properly at all. The unit was back to taking 10 seconds to jump back 6, taking about 20 seconds to skip forward 30, progress bar not coming up immediately when pausing, etc. Unit was very non-responsive to the remote.

This morning around 6:30 cdt, I experienced the delayed response to commands again. The HR21 was tuned to 4-1 and playing fine, just wouldn't do anything for a few minutes.

I noticed a show I normally record on 55-1 was recording on 55. Has anyone else ever have a show change to the non-OTA station?

I may have. Not sure if I missed it though when I was tweaking my Series Links.

I had the same issue. I was watching about 10-15 minutes behind live, and when I tried to skip the commercials, response to the commands was all over the place...some commands were instant response, some never took, some were delayed, jumping ahead well behind the button push. The end result was that I could never hit the end of the commercial break correctly. Thus, I had to use "jump back", which also acted very erratically.
MAN, I'd like to see this fixed tonight!~:nono2:

MediaShare Video: Viiv PC - Tried video for the first time in a while. Times out after a couple of seconds saying unable to access the media. Music is working fine (haven't played with pics).

I frequently have slow response to the remote. Sometimes if I push the buttons too fast, it will do nothing for 10 or 15 seconds. During playback, I will use 3X FF during the commercials and I have to pause between pushes or it will not register for a while. The HR20s don't have this problem. I think this predates the AM21. I'm using the same remote with a HR20-700, with the HR21-700 as AV1.

Good point. I've already noted the problems I'm having with trick-play.

I use the same remote for my HR20-100s, HR20-700s and HR21-700. I use the high-tech "block the sensor" method to assure only controlling the desired machine, but the remote slide stays anchored on the DirecTV Tornado logo.
