Finished the download push here - almost 17 minutes in length.

Watched the download go...really a "herky jerky" one...stopping every 5% or so.

The good news is that the guide and network settings appear in tact (so far).

Another observation - no record in history of this download (unlike previous ones).

OK, mine didn't start at 9CDT, I guess b/c I had some recordings scheduled that I cancelled just before 9. 10 now and got the prompt to download, said yes and the download is in progress.

Me. I had recordings scheduled from 9 PM ET through 11 PM ET, so that may be why.

Unit is still on, so I'll just let it do it's own thing and check back tomorrow morning whether or not I was upgraded.

Mrs. Lefty is now watching "The Bachelor" recorded earlier tonight - after she's done I'll put the box in standby and go to bed. Will check tomorrow to see if the push comes through overnight.

Download went smooth. Took about 22 minutes from start to resumption of playback.

I'm not going to put the box in standby. I'm going to be "that user" who never does it. :D

Hey, I actually am "that user" with the HR21.

I have not received the new software, and my only recording ended at 9pm Eastern. History shows two downloads at 10:01p and two more at 11:01p, all four saying Received.

My last recording for the evening ended at 9 PM MDT. Box is on and no attempt has been made to download. Nothing in history.

Well, I'm always that user - I never use standby! :D

As of 11:05 PM, I had no items in history even showing a download was attempted. I just checked, and as of this posting, no change in the last 45 minutes.

Download started around 7:00 PM MST. Box was on , not recording anything, did not answer the permission message, but let it expire on its own, and download proceeeded with no problems.

Receiver was in standby running 103. Checked it just after midnight (central) and saw that it is now at 104. History says started at 9:01 and the info was updated at 9:19. Wish I had seen the announcement earlier so I could have watched it but all seems ok. It didn't hose my network settings this time.

Per the history, download succeeded at 12:01 AM ET, but per the System Info & Test screen, download succeeded at 12:16 AM ET.

Got the upgrade this morning (midnightish) and the box was in standby as I left it when I got up. Initial results look good.

Still on 0x103 here. History shows "successful" software downloads about once an hour, interrupted by a couple of late-night scheduled recordings, starting around 11:01 last night and continuing through this morning. I suspect that if I try a menu reset, the Dash command will not work. I am going to try to confirm that now.

EDITED TO ADD: Confirmed. GUI reset tried and failed. RBR and downloading 0x104 now.

Ran some tests this morning on the HR21 with 0104.

So far, no lockups - that's already an improvement.

The network settings hold and work but not for the Internet, despite an hour of changing settings on the HR21 and Buffalo unit, resetting the wireless device, etc.

The menus seem a bit crisper, and the search is definitely a bit smoother.
