Even if he hadn't, he could've rearranged the order of the posts to beat you anyway. :p

I think I know the answer to this, but will the Hr21 have DLB?

It has the same DVR features as the HR20, so no DLB.

I better get on the stick and get my H20 replaced with another HR20, I was planning to do it later, but it may be to late. Without the OTA tuner I will be missing 27 local HDs and digitals that I now get with the H20, and would have only the current 4 that D* gives us. I am hoping they also keep the HR20s around for a while.

I think you're worried too much. The HR21 seems to merely give Directv a lower-cost option to install for those who don't want or need an OTA signal. Heck, my HR20 couldn't get OTA for about two or three months after it was installed!
"When is OTA going to be activated?" was the most common topic in this forum.

Yep! I think they'll be around for a while for a lot of people like myself who can only get OTA.

The HR21 also includes a built in Ethernet switch. There is a second conncetor that can be used to connect to another receiver and share the same cable to the local network.

I remember that. I waited until they activated it to change my HR10-250 for my first HR20. Glad to hear that the HR20's will be around for a while. Only 1 of my HDTV's has an OTA tuner in it. :joy:

    Yes; it sure does.

You might want to check out the First Look HR21 Document in the sticky. It's a petty comprehensice doc.

In his defense... he posted that question, before the first look was released.

So if i buy DTV today, and I want to upgrade to an H21, will they charge me?

H21? Well, H21 or HR21, if they'd charge you for the 20 series, they're going to charge you for its 21 series counterpart.

I want to add an HD DVR and want a HR21 (don't need OTA).

When can or should I pull the trigger to ensure I get an HR21?

Can you specifically ask the CSR for one?

They're not even in the regular distribution chain quite yet, though it might be only a matter of days. No one is certain. Perhaps longer for some markets or areas.

    Not yet.
