Ok, you know the drill. Get the HR21, hookup the HR21, test the HR21, and tell everyone how you've got your HR21 hooked up. (Then tell everyone the one or two minor issues you've discovered in the issues thread.)

So, please tell us how your HR21 is hooked up:
    TV connection(s):
    TV make and model:
Satellite connection: SWM or switch (one or two lines and switch model)
Audio connection: (and AVR model too)
    IR or RF remote control:

    And have fun!
    Thanks,
    Tom

I had to wait till I was home (couldn't do it last night either) to get the info. It's not here yet but here's what the setup will be:

    TV connection(s): Component
TV make and model: LG 37LC2D
    Satellite connection: SWM
Audio connection: Optical to a Sony STR-DG500
IR or RF remote control: IR using a Harmony 880

Whenever it shows up, my setup will be:

TV connection(s): Component through Yamaha HTR-5960 receiver
TV make and model: Samsung HL-S5688W
    Satellite connection: Zinwell WB68
Audio connection: Optical to Yamaha HTR-5960 receiver
IR or RF remote control: IR using a Harmony 880

Basically it's replacing the HR20 in my signature below - the HR-20 is going to replace the R15 connected to my old Toshiba 42H81, and that R15 is going to replace the D11 in my daughter's room - the kids love it when Dad gets new toys and bumps stuff down the food chain.

    Earl,

I posted this problem in the SWM thread also. It appears I have a bad SWM5.

"I'm in the process of adding another HR to my system and I need to cascade my SWM5 with a WB68. After rewiring everything. I powered up my HR10-250 which is on the legacy ports of the SWM and the HR10-250 detected a failure on tuner 1 sat 119. I tried it twice and had the same result. I moved the HR10-250 to the WB68 and everythig went through correctly. It appears tha one of the legacy ports has some sort of failure when connected (cascaded) to the WB58. I can leave the connections as is for now, but It would be nice to get these ports working correctly.

Okay, got mine this morning and had enough time to plug it in and turn it on...

So, please tell us how your HR21 is hooked up:
    TV connection(s): Component
TV make and model: Sylvania 15" LCD EDTV (See sig for model in Bedroom)
Satellite connection: SWM or switch (one or two lines and switch model) SWM
Audio connection: (and AVR model too) AV Cables to TV
IR or RF remote control: IR Remote (No codes for TV so running both the TV remote and the RC64)

Two comments out of the shoot:

1 - The latest BETA was not on the box. I believe 0x168 was on there to start. I am away from home for a few hours so I will see if the latest BETA is installed when I return.
2 - Setup Menu lists Sat & Antenna vs. Sat Only. Could be confusing to users if that is the way it will be in production.

Good news: Music and Photos Beta is running on this box. Note, that Media Share is not loaded to this receiver. Can not remember which firmware turned that on.

I have the box set to Native : On with the following formats active, 480p and 1080i.

My TV has a 1080i mode that will letterbox and downres to 480p looks a lot better than just keeping the box on 480p and native off.

Changes resolutions quickly. Did not have time to test the speed of the guide. But bootup did take a lot less time than on the HR20.

    Thats all for now.

    TV connection(s): HDMI
TV make and model: Sony KDS-60A2000
Satellite connection: SWM-5 from port 1 on the SWM
Audio connection: (and AVR model too) Optical to Onkyo audio
IR or RF remote control: IR on AV1 port. HR20 is also on the remote on the D* setting. Used code 00003 for AV1.
    Phone cable: connected

Note: The HDMI cable is plugged into the second HDMI port on the Sony, which doesn't pick up the audio from the cable. It has separate RCA plugs for composite audio inputs to play through the TV.

Also networked to the LAN through a 10MB hub. LAN has 1 HR20, HR21, 3 wired PCs (primary media systems), and 3 wireless (not used for sharing)

TV connection(s): HDMI to TV and S-Video to PC for capture
TV make and model: Sharp LC-26SH12U (only temporary - the TV's going back to Costco)
Satellite connection: FTM port to SWM5
    Audio connection: HDMI to TV
    Remote: RF
Phone line connected: Not at the moment
    Networked: YES
I temporarily have the HR21 in the living room with the other two HR20s and have a new Sharp 26" TV on a TV-tray about a foot to the left of my 42" plasma until the weekend, so I have to use RF for the HR21 to avoid conflicts. It all looks very geeky, but I kind of like having two HDTVs in one room. :)

    Bainbridge...
I tested it with component cables, but later moved it to the bedroom, replacing my R15 (I still need to upgrade the TV, so am using composite for now). I have the coax to there connected to the legacy ports of my SWM5, but will use the second FTM port once I get down to the crawlspace. I get all current HD channels, but I recall that the legacy ports won't work for Ka-low so I need to make that change.

Slight change to my setup. I've gone from component to HDMI directly from the HR21 to the TV. Everything else is still as is.
