What's it mean when a HR22 is stuck on step 1 of 2? I have red button reset and power plug reset to no avail. When I first tried to turn it on it was stuck in standby which is why I initially reset it.

Hold down info on the remote and see if you can get to where you can run a self check.

All else fails, try unplugging the DVR for half an hour.

While it's on this screen or during boot up? Hitting info on the step 1 of 2 screen does nothing.

On step 1 of 2. Not hitting, holding.

Also, +1 on the half hour thing.

Ok, held info for several seconds and got nothing so I pulled the plug.

Crap. Looking like a no go on the half hour power down.

Edit: I'll leave it unplugged overnight and see if it wakes up in the morning.

If it still doesn't get past the step 1, remove the network cable (if connected) and try again.

I've seen cases where an ETHERNET network cable caused this issue. Don't recall hearing of a DECA module the same issue.

Looks like it's coming back. At step 2 - 25% after being unplugged all night.

    Edit: It's back!!

Same thing happened to mine. Never could get it to boot up. Now the proud owner of a HR24-500!

Now I see that this receiver got the update yesterday, which is probably what left it hosed in standby.

Spoke to soon. Went upstairs and it was stuck an Step 1 of 2 again.

Tech support has me running a scan now.

Anyone performed one of these scans before? Sitting at 15% 3 errors found, 3 corrected. Bad part is I'm not sure it's still doing anything cuz it's 90 minutes in and I was told the entire process would take a couple hours.

It's only at 15% after 90 minutes? Call everyone to the bedside, she may be about to go on to the next life.

Yea, probably gonna have to replace it. Which is ok, but it's an HR22 and I don't want anything older than that.

Surprisingly I keep seeing these "my HR2x receiver broke and now I am the proud 'owner' of an HR24" posts. :)

You could get lucky! Keep us posted...

They are sending a replacement. 3 to 5 business days to receive replacement doesn't seem like good service to me. Especially considering I have the pp plan. If I get less than a HR22 I won't be happy.

Does Directv send any kind of confirmation email for replacement receivers?

About 3 hours before it shows up, you might get a tracking info email like I did once. Log into your account online and check the recent orders tab, it might have some info for you there.
