Remote response seems to be slowing down.

I was watching the evening news and pressed pause. I saw the power light flicker so I waited. It took about 5 seconds for the show to pause.

A couple of minutes later I hit play and again I saw the power light respond to the button press so I waited. It took 3ish seconds before it started to play.

All the remote functions seem to take several seconds from the button press to the response.

The HR23-700 has responded poorly to the latest update. For the first time ever I am not happy with the unit. The system has slowed to a crawl. Poor response to remote commands. Guide and List functions take forever to come up... displaying a blue and white graphic screen with no data until finally it pops up.

No problems with recording or playing back, although hitting play seems to take forever to actually play. In general the unit has become sluggish and unresponsive. I have done 2 rbr's since the download and neither one resulted in any improvement.

I always wonder why the same model receiver with the same version software responds differently. I'm not going to lie, the HR23 is slower than my HR20-700; but I was thinking that response time on this last CE is a little quicker. I have never experienced displaying of a blue and white graphic screen with no data until it finally pops up.

I experience (extreme) slowness when the unit is recording and I am trying to do housekeeping. When nothing is recording it does seem a little faster than the last CE.

At 8pm I am recording two things and I didn't get the popup asking me if it was ok to change the channel.

I missed a recording of "My Own Worst Enemy" on Monday night; and although I can't prove it; I believe it was due to auto soft pad. Here is the scenario:

    Monday Night:
    • My Own Worst Enemy scheduled to record at 10:00 PM on NBC HD (not series link).
    • Recording CBS HD from 9:30-10:00 (series link)
    • Raising the Bar scheduled to record on TNTHD from 10:00-11:00 Series link)
    Tuesday Night:
    • Go to Playlist to play My Own Worst Enemy
    • My Own Worst Enemy is not there.
    • Go to History and see My Own Worst Enemy has been cancelled.
    • Get more information which states "viewer cancelled".
I can say with certainty...viewer did not cancel. It looks to me that auto soft pad was not releasing a tuner at 10:00 PM for the scheduled recording. My Own Worst Enemy was the only 10:00 PM recording scheduled.

Vinny, check the length of the CBS recording for "Worst Week". It should be 29 minutes as "2.5 Men" runs 31 minutes. If you're showing 30 minutes, then your station didn't adjust the run time and "Worst Week" probably ran to 10:01.

Just checked.....Worst Week began at 9:31 and ran 29 minutes.

This is why I believe it was the auto softpad that didn't release the tuner to begin recording on NBC.

For some reason my box didn't record Knight Rider last night. I suppose it could be because for some reason my local affiliate didn't have it, but I SERIOUSLY doubt that is the case (the NEW Knight Rider). My local affiliate is WFLA channel 8, and I think it should have recorded around 8PM on Wednesday night.

Checked history, and couldn't find it as recorded or not recorded.
