Well here it is in an early form. I might still monkey with the design, and clearly we're missing all the pictures except the unboxing ones. I used a photo from one of you for the cover and will replace it when we get some glamour shots.

MicroBeta, I'd still like to see a conclusion from you (and anyone else who cares to contribute) but I think we've adequately covered "what's different."

I would like to add that the GUI was faster on the HR23 than it was on my HR20. I don't own a HR21, so I can't compare with that.

Wow - very nice - it almost looks like a published magazine article or product brochure. Very professional and very nice, indeed.

Classy Job and a class act from a great group!

Very nice Stuart! I like the professional look of the blue backgrounds. I just can't figure out where the idea for the blue came from.:D

With the form and functionality of the HR23-700 it isn't hard to see how DirectTv is leading the way in DVR technology!

    Looks good.

Just a note: my replacement did not come with any a/v cables; there was only a power cord, remote, new instruction manual (HD & SD units combined), and access card.

Not sure if this is only for units provided by DirecTV or if the retail package will be the same.

I like the look of the new manual.

    Looks really good so far.

And its been a great experience thus far. This receiver just works like my Tivo used to. I was a big Tivo guy and one of those you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands guys, but the HR23-700 made me realize there are other DVRs out there that are just as good as Tivo.

Well, first we need some great photography from the firm of Robertson and Brott, and then a little more polish... then when the DVR goes public, so do we!
