well that was short lived pipe dream, no report yet as wife is using that tv.
Ah well, go rest the back for a while. :new_sleep
going to rehook component so I can use the stupid thing but will not be swapping back and forth to hdmi to test. going back to comp and staying.
Well, since we got the release candidate Friday my HR24-100 has froze up twice while recording the US Open, yesterday and today. Both times the record light is on and the progress bar says that it has recorded way past the freeze point. Once the play back reached the freeze the unit will not play live TV either, it just gives a blank screen with no audio. All menu functions are accessible from the remote so I was able to send a report while it was ike that. Today I listened carefully and am fairly certain that the hd is running, just nothing recording. If it happens again I am going to try to play the partial recording from my other hr to se what it does. Another thing, when I started playing back to recorded show, live TV was working. I am also doing a backup recording on the HR22.
Back in town today, I will hook up HDMI tomorrow and give it a shot.
I like getting my CE's pushed, I wish I could sign up for my others to get them that way.
I guess I thought we would be caught up since it was called a 'customer candidate'.
That's probably the reason...
The "Posters Everywhere" redesign is still in CE on the other units, and DirecTV most likely wants to get a NR for the HR24-100 units before releasing them to the public.
Once the HR24-100 goes NR, a "Posters Everywhere" CE will probably be released...
If you look at what they've done in the past, you'll see that if a new feature appears on an HR20 under release "456", e.g., you won't see that new feature on an HR24 until release "456" (or higher) is available for the HR24.
Not so fast.
I was able to lock it up using stacked TP commands. Now it was much harder to do and I was trying to do it. Not sure how it will fair under normal use. I will try that tonight.
With this release, I switched back to HDMI >> Denon 3806 >>Sony KDS-R70XBR2. I will give it a try this way for a couple of days, then go directly into the TV.
Hmm.. interesting. I've been connected via HDMI since I got the HR24-100. THis is the first time that I've been able to use MRV on it since I got it.
I've used MRV all weekend and used the HR24-100 to view programs recorded on each of the other three HR's... not one blip.
So it looks so far like whatever tweaking was done since last CE may have been enough for Marty's set-up, but not enough for Dmac and Herdfan.
Will be interesting to see how Scott and Alan fare, because if it turns out 4-5 folks are still having issues requiring reboots, that represents about 20% of the HR24-100 field testers. That's a pretty high %, IMHO.
I was able to lock it on component watching mrv over ethernet about 5 minutes after a stack of 5 30skips.
did not report yet, if I feel like getting back up and going back to that room I might.
I am disgusted with this one I have, cannot do a damn thing with it.
Forgive me if you already tried this, but did you reboot it after you switched from HDMI to component? I remember Alan saying he needed to do that to make his box "forget" the old HDMI connection.
Great catch - yes - a must do!
yes had to in order for video to actually work at all.
Makes me wonder if there isn't another issue besides the HDMI issue then. I wonder if what you're seeing isn't related to the issue Sharon reported yesterday, trying to record the U.S. Open?
possible, am going to try doing some local records later and test them against component.
or its a junk unit I have, don't know.
You had better believe that I won't set up something to record on the 24 without also setting the 22 up to record the same thing. Luckily I got it restarted about the time the final pair teed off.
A reset solved the issue.
Well here it is, I locked it up with the pause/audio drop bug using MRV hooked up via HDMI. I unhooked the HDMI cable from the tv and can use the receiver with component/rca.
No fix here.
