I got the push on Frday. Have not had any lockups since the last firmware. Still can't get the network running via powerline adaptors. Also still have no MVR in the menu. Not that I would be using it at this time, but alll my other receivers show a Whole House option. And something new that I noticed the other day; trying to record from a 3D channel gets a message saying that it may not record due to my receiver not being authorized. I'm not able to record a live 3D show at all, however if I schedule a recording it shows as if it has recorded.

I put two shows in from my phone to download. Both shows were 30 minutes, but both when I went to play would pop up right away with the KoD (Keep or Delete) message. I didn't do a report, since other shows that were set to record that day from the STB all worked as they should. BTW, the progress bar said 30 minutes but in an instant it would go to the KoD, also I try FF past and 30 second slip, and both instances it went to the KoD. I will try a retest shortly; from the DirecTV web site, from the Palm Pre application, and from the guide in the STB.

I sent a couple of recording requests to the STB. Neither one took, however I received the following confirmations messages from DirecTV:

The first one was sent from and the second one was from my Palm Pre application. Neither one showed up on the machine to record.

In addition, I went to the DirecTV website and did a recording directly from there and I didn't get a confirmation email or anything showing up on the machine.

Houston, this is a MAJOR problem. I'm not sure where the problem lies, but the only reason I retried this was because I got non-playable recordings when I tried setting up recordings from my Palm Pre for Thursday night (Friday morning).

I would ask that if you have a HR24-200 to try to record something from DirecTV's website, plus your phone, as well as and report your results. I will be trying this on my other STBs today to confirm it is only this STB (HR24-200).

The "confirmation" just means that DIRECTV saw your request and sent the request to your STB. There is no way at this time to get confirmation from the STB that it actually received it. This has been the case since the first day that could set up recordings.

It may or may not be related, however I figured I would pos it since this is the first time I had problems with it from any of the recording requesting services.

Since this is also a discussion thread I will add that this release has held up so far. I watched a fair amount of recorded programming yesterday and didn't break the unit. I will give it a very good test today and see what happens.

One issue that I have noticed with this release is that things like List, Settings, and Manage Recordings are lagging when opening up. Once they are open, scrolling is just as fast as ever, but it takes a few seconds to display the GUI.

The 3D issues that I have noted before still persist in this release (fuzzy GUI and not signaling the TV to switch into 3D mode when connected through my receiver).

I have noticed that fast forward is much more consistent with this release. In previous releases, FFx3 would start out fast but after a few seconds, start to slow down.

I had paused live TV while watching the Yankees-Mariners game on 631. I tried FFWDing to live and lost audio. I went back a little to confirm that video would freeze after a couple of seconds and it did. I went back to live TV. Video OK, but still no audio. The game was not over yet, so I switched to my HR24-500 to continue watching. After the game was over, I scheduled a couple of things on the HR24-200, then generated a report. Menu restart receiver worked.

This has been a much more stable release but I broke it today. I did three 15 minute skips (Holding FF for three seconds, releasing and hitting it once) and then a couple of 30-second slips and when I finished the machine was totally locked up. RBR.

After watching and deleting programming from my To Do List the receiver had the audio and video lock while doing a 30-second slip. Menu reset.

After watching more locally recorded programming I paused the program to take the dogs out. When I came back live programming was showing, but no audio was available. I tried to return to the prior program by using the flip trickplay function and the unit totally locked. RBR.

Again I was viewing locally recorded material, using FF and 30-second slips to skip commercials, and I locked the audio and video coming out of a 30-second slip.
