After dmricke posted that his receiver was delivered, I went home at lunch and mine was sitting by the door.

HR24-200 powered up with no issues, already activated, running 0x3b3.

My HR24-200 was waiting for me when I got home.

Will have it integrated into my setup no later than Sunday.

When I pressed List, I got a Welcome to DIRECTV Multi-Room message. Then a screen to name the location, and options to share the playlist and allow deleting from other rooms.

I started to watch a recording of NCIS, and playback was smooth, trickplay very good. I got about 3/4ths of the way through and as I was pressing play after ffwding through commercials, the system froze. Had to RBR.

HR24-200 connected via HDMI to Denon AVR-3808CI then via HDMI to Sony KDS-55A3000
    No report

While watching a program from another DVR, I was trying to use trickplay to skip commercials near the end of the program. I lost audio. I exited the program, live tv had no audio. I switched to the H24-100 and watched the rest of the program. I switched back to the HR24-200 and started the program over, still no sound. I went to the audio setup and turned DD off and got audio briefly, then silence I tried to jump forward and the unit locked up. Did a RBR.

I watched a few recorded shows today from other DVRs without any issues. I powered the system down for a couple of hours and put the HR24-200 into standby. When I tried to turn on the system, the HR24-200 would not turn on. I tried to record something using the H24, but the HR24 didn't show up in the DVR list. Had to RBR.

I think my HR24-200 is bricked.

I went through the tasks of integrating it into my system today. This required a second run of RG-6 to my WB-68 (last available port remaining). My intent was to replace my H21-200 in the MBR.

Made all connections and started the box. Saw the normal blue screens (through receiver self-check) and then step 1 of 2. Step 2 of 2, however, never loaded. I saw the progress indicator (at 0%), but it never progressed. Never saw "Step 2 of 2, downloading satellite settings." Multiple RBRs and attempts to start up with and without BBCs were fruitless.

To verify connectivity, I put my H21-200 back in place and started the box. Saw blue screens, then 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. Box came back up normally. To check the second satellite connection, I disconnected the BBC from the receiver and connected the second connection's BBC. Signal was restored.

No report possible. I attempted to force a download so I could verify software version (it's at 0x03B3).

Have you waiting about 10 minutes until it timed out and popped up the guided setup screen to make sure its got the correct satellite dish setup?

    Hi, Dave,

Never got that far. The Step 2 progress indicator would stay at 0% for several minutes before the screen would go dark and I'd see the beloved 771 "Searching for Satellite Signal" message.

There is a way to force it to pop up the satellite setup screen on first bootup, but I for the life of me, cannot remember how. I think if you were to be able to get into that menu, you will find its configured wrong somehow. Hopefully someone else can chime in and tell you how to get that menu up when you first boot.

The "guided satellite setup" OSD should pop up if you wait long enough. When I first got my H24, it was preconfigured for SWM and at that point I had a WB68. I got the same message as you, but changing the setup to "multiswitch" solved the problem.

If it doesn't pop up on its own, try hitting the menu key to see if you can get anything to appear that would let you go to the setup menu.

It is my understanding that these boxes are configured in El Segundo for SWM, so those who are on legacy (non-swm systems) will need to change the settings in "guided setup". When the progress bar stalls at "0%", simply select menu and enter guided setup. As Davenlr pointed out, i believe there use to be a method to force it at boot but i also cannot remember how.

I had forgotten that with my HR24, but it took me two tries at it to get menu up so I could do the guided set up so it recognized the bbcs.

I was able to access the menu after first encountering the 771 error (never knew I could do that). Adjusted the settings as suggested here. Back in business.

My original post should read "I'm the one who's bricked."

One things for sure - we've got some terrific resources here!

    Report# 20100523-227

Was playing a 1080i program from a hr21-200 server running 0x3E5 over DECA. Pressed play after FF through a commercial and lost audio. All sources (live, local recordings, recordings from other sources, etc.) played without audio. Placed unit in standby, power cycled TV and audio receiver but problem persisted. Sent report. Attempted menu reset, but system hung after entering dash. Red button reset corrected problem.

Problem has repeated three times today. Twice a menu reset restored function. Once the system hung when stopping FF, which required a red button reset.

btw - awesome how fast this machine restarts

    HR24-200 -> HDMI -> Denon AVR-3808CI -> HDMI -> Sony KDS-55A3000
    No Report

First time recording two things at once and watching a program with MRV. MRV program froze about midway through, no response from unit. Switched to H24 to try to play a recording from the HR24-200 and got the message that it was off the network. Had to RBR.

I continued to watch the program that froze using the H24 instead. After a while, I checked the playlist again and saw that my new recordings on the HR24 were still not showing up. Switched inputs and was on a diagnostic screen: Advanced Diagnostics 3000. I proceeded with the tests, which all passed, then exited and the DVR rebooted. It continued with the recordings and scheduled a later showing for one of them. This happened during the 7pm hour. By 9pm, I was able to watch the entire final episode of Lost with the HR24-200, which was also recording the episode. I was not watching live, but caught up to live near the end. There were no problems during this time.
