I have a HR24-500 and have been experiencing the audio dropout issue for the last 2 months. For me it is more prevalent on my local channels but it happens occasionally on FS1, NBCSN and CNN. Rewinding a bit helps but is a PITA and not what I am paying for. DirecTV wants to upgrade me but from what I read this is an issue with other DVRs as well and I don't want to get locked into DirecTV any longer as their product continues to degrade.

They asked a half dozen questions over a couple days... they're sending a replacement c41. Nice tech.

Just cancelled after 14 years. They offer discounts but if the audio problems cant be fixed what good is it?
Their resolution was to send an HR54 to replace my bad hr44 then extend my contract 2 years. What a croc.
    I immediately cancelled!
I'm using playstation Vue right now and after 2 weeks I assure you I'll never go back to Directv!

My son has an H24-700 and his dropouts are far worse than mine on my HR24-100. It is really bad in the last few weeks and we have the same software version on the receivers.

I've been using a 24-100 that I just put back in service. I wiped the HDD clean and I see few problems associated with audio dropouts. On my 24-200 I see plenty, haven't worked on that one in a long time. I have the newest NR on both. Why so different? Not sure, but wiping out all the content on the HDD might have something to do with it.

Can you divulge your location? I keep hearing good things about the PS Vue and I have questions.

My 24-100 was wiped before I decommissioned it 3 years ago because I thought they wanted it back.
Right now I have 94% fee space.

I reset my sons H24 before he went in that room today to see if that helps his receiver.

I'm beginning to think the 24s are having a hard time with a loaded HDD, even if it only half full.

I have 3 identical HR24 models. They all have the audio drop problem which has been getting MUCH worse over the past week or so. Started about a couple of months ago I think.

I dont think that’s it, they haven’t had any real feature changes in several years. I think it’s on their end with signal processing of locals and maybe their servers for searches and such.

I get it on my HR54, C61Ks, and all HR24s.
I also saw it on my sisters HR44 and mini clients and she lives in a different state.

That 24-100 I just put back in service after wiping out all the content on its HDD doesn't seem to have any audio dropouts, I think it's a clue, I do.

Not an Eastern state? I'm really thinking this is a regional issue.

I am getting it. I live in Texas, but the problem occurs on live TV AND on older recorded shows.

Possibly misplaced correlation though. I believe it’s more based on channels...

I don't see them on the other HRs, but that particular 24-100 is working really well. Amazingly well. Just a thought, I have no idea what wiping the HDD has to do with audio dropouts.
